We visted this restaurant on two occasions during our recent stay in Vicopisano. As the first visit was ok (the beef was a bit salty) we decided to go back on our last night as we wanted somewhere local to eat because we had a early start in the morning.
On the second visit we decided to skip the antipasto which we had on our first vist and have a pasta dish. I am sorry to say that both our pasta dishes were far to salty. We also had a bit difficulty ordering our main course, due to our poor grasp of the italian language and it wasnt until I got the bill and i queried the amount that we were told that we had in fact been given 1.1kg of fiorentina steak.
Now apart from the fact that it was a cut T bone steak there was no similarity between this and others I have had before. In other restaurants we have always been asked two questions, how much do you want (prices are per 100g) and how we would like it done. The waiter on this occasion did not ask either question which although my Italian is not good I do understand this much. The steak we received was extremely fatty, tough and well done. The steak had no flavour apart from the salt applied during the cooking process and was not what I have come to expect from this particular cut of meat. All in all a disapointing experience made worse by my lack of knowledge with the language that is was far easier to just pay the bill and leave.
