Description: Located near the Celebrity Hotel at Lapta, the Pubjab is hidden from the road behind a row of beautiful Palm trees. Turn in at the Punjab sign and there is ample room for parking. The Restaurant is a modern glass fronted building with a large terrace at the front which can accommodate 80 people for dining outside throughout the summer months. Up to 70 diners can be seated inside where it is very light and airy due to the complete front of the restaurant being a glass wall. This wall can be folded completely back, for those evening when you cannot quite decide 'in or out'. The Punjab was opened in May 2009 by Riaz and his brothers who have been in the restaurant business in Northern Cyprus for over 15 years. Riaz and his team will offer you a delicious range of Indian dishes and large range of European food, to cater for all tastes, they also have a children's menu. The Punjab specialises in Indian cuisine and their Tandoori dishes are outstanding. There are three fully trained chefs, one for each type of dish, all of whom are experts in field. So whether you choose Indian, Tandoori or European you are assured top quality food. Special Events - Sunday Roast On a Sunday you can enjoy a full 'Sunday Roast' with all the usual accompaniments. This is very popular, therefore it is better to book a table to avoid disappointment. This is offered through the day at a very competitive price for two courses, so you may choose a starter then a Main Course, there is a choice of Beef, Lamb or Chicken, or you may prefer to have a dessert for a 'sweeter ending'. Dance Night Throughout the summer, on at least one night week, you can enjoy live music and dance the night away, after you have dined. Another very popular event.

We went on a Thursday evening and it was busy, a good sign. The service was good and not to rushed. The plates were warmed and the main dishes were kept warm by candles underneath. The food itself was served piping hot, it was very good portion sizes. We were offered more rice and nan bread if we wanted it free of charge. The whole meal was well cooked. We will go back when we are in the area again. Also the price was reasonable.

We had a very enjoyable meal here on our recent holiday to this region of N Cyprus! I was actually quite amazed by how good it was for an Indian restaurant abroad.....as so often they seem to not get it quite right!

However all tasted extremely good to us, and we were pleased we'd given it a go! If like us you are a lover of Indian food, then we would very definitely recommend you have a meal there!

Just one thing to bear in mind! If you like to have a nice relaxing, quiet meal with opportunity to chat, then don't go on a Wednesday evening! They have a live lady singer.....Katie B!! Although she does have a very good voice....it is very loud, and you can't hear yourself think, never mind hold any sort of conversation. We did rather rush the end of our meal in order to get out into the quiet evening.

A very welcoming reception and the staff were attentive but not 'fussy'. The menu was comprehensive and they cooked the food to the strength you requested. The food was served very hot and remained so because of the food warmers each dish had. The portion sizes were very generous and the quality was excellent.

Delicious food, excellent service, reasonably priced and a lovely setting on the outside terrace. The staff were great, attentive but not in your face. The food was served promptly and piping hot. We thoroughly recommend the Chicken Chat and Baked Aubergine to start. The Naan bread is the best in the world... Absolutely divine. Sadly we won't get another visit in on this holiday but will definitely be back next year.
