Great place to stay to explore the Loire Valley if you have a car. Close to Ambois, Chenonceau.

The room we had was beautifully appointed and serviced very well daily. Simple but delicious continental breakfast to wake up to each morning. Do try the pool if it is open!

We will be back!

parking: onsite
AC: available, but maybe centrally controlled. Not needed during our stay
Room: great room, lit à baldaquin, nice decors and furniture
Noise: mostly quiet, a bit of noise from the floor above us.
bed: good
internet: worked well on all floors (multiple access points)
staff: the gentleman running the place was fantastic: professional, helpful, friendly. Couldn't have asked for more.
location: it's less than 10mn from downtown Amboise and a good base for many Loire Chateaux
breakfast: it was a bit basic on the food side (my wife prefers savoury to sweet) but beverages were great.

It's a nice renovated castle, there are a few quirks you have to expect from any castle, but the renovation has been well done (elevator, automated light sensors, air conditioning, and more). Obviously it costs more than a regular hotel, but we were quite happy with what we got.

We arrived after a long drive from Calais en route to the Dordogne and felt immediately that the heat and hassle of our day had been lifted. We stayed in Margaux&Jules which had twin beds for our children along with a double (in a turret) and family bathroom.
Our first move was to head down the tunnel to the swimming pool. The cleverly restored tunnel offers a small amount of gym equipment and changing facilities along with access to the pool terrace.
In the evening we headed into the beautiful local town of Amboise. Here we found many buzzing restaurants under the ramparts of the chateau and wonderful views of the Loire. Our children were thrilled with this experience.
Breakfast was traditionally French and served either inside or outside.
This place is simply one the grandest and most beautiful B&Bs in the world and if you are looking for more whistles and bells than that, you are missing the point.

This may be one of your best hotel stays ever! The experience captures the essence of living in a real castle in Medieval times, with modern conveniences of course. Our family shared 2 adjoining rooms that were magnificent. Our host, Oliver, made the experience excellent with his professionalism and charm. This place even has a horse, Monarque, that live in the pasture to enhance your views from your window.

Perfect place to stay while exploring beautiful Loire Valley!! Chateau des Arpentis is absolutely beautiful - from the tranquil, out of the way, location; to the majestic, yet simple, decor; to the wonderfully appointed rooms; to the genuine, friendly service!!
From the moment we arrived (after driving around the area for 20 minutes or so looking for the very discreet entrance), we felt like we were "trespassing" onto someone's private Royal hunting castle. After 5 busy days in Paris, my wife had tears of joy as soon as she saw where our home for the next 3 days would be. Our room, "Chambre Rose", was big, with a huge window overlooking the pond and the woods. We spent our nights with the windows wide open, being lulled to sleep by the sounds of nature!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Room Tip: Make sure to request a room overlooking the pond and woods!! Skip a museum or a church in Paris, an...

What better way to explore the Loire Valley than to stay at a real chateau! The hidden drive into the property adds to the fun of finding this hidden gem which was built over 300 years ago, has been largely modernized internally, but still have the uniqueness of an old building (the floors slant, the huge fire place in the library works and the hall of animals). It is not super-luxury (no duvets) and the wifi doesn't work great, but the pool area is beautiful and having breakfast outside overlooking the grounds is unbeatable.

My wife and I just spent 2 nights at the Chateau with a small group of our friends. Everything was perfect. The Chateau is beautiful; Olivier is a gracious host and all I can say is that we wished we had booked more time in the Loire Valley.
