We stayed here for six nights during Euro 2008 and this place truly is the last word. We couldn't get accomodation in Salzburg and chose to stay here, about 4 miles out of the city. What a good decision! Our room was huge, more of a suite than a bedroom and most of the rooms seemed to be the same. The standard of decor and cleanliness was exemplary, the restaurant was excellent and the staff very friendly despite our lack of the German language.
The location, in the shadow of the Untersberg mountain meant that we could not only enjoy the cable car up to the top but also the numerous forest and riverside walks closeby. The only downside was the location near a busy crossroads which meant it was a bit noisy in the external bar / dining area. The traffic noise though was not a problem inside the hotel. The hotel and the surrounding countryside was just so damned pretty that we had no regrets in not staying in Salzburg. Besides the no. 25 bus from near the hotel took us into the city in about 20 minutes. If you are visting Salzburg I would recommend Gasthof Schorn without hesitation.

We stayed here for one night. It's a lovely historic building with its own private car park to the rear. Our room was great, very spacious and clean. We arrived just after 9.00 pm so only the little Stube was open for dinner and that didn't have the extensive menu of the restaurant but it was still good. Service was very friendly.

Breakfast was a bit glum and the waitress wasn't that friendly but the food was good and varied. I think this guest house is good value for money and would recommend it.

We stayed at the hotel for one week while we explored Salzburg and the surrounding area. It was a great base - just 20 mins from Salzburg on the bus which stopped across the road from the hotel. Our room was spacious and exceptionally clean and had a view of the mountain across the road. We had a super king size bed and an enourmous bathroom! The family who run the hotel are very welcoming and friendly. We often ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

We totally enjoyed our stay at this place. Its very cozy and the people who run this place are great. We had a great view of the snow capped mountains from our room window. It was a very pleasant experience and if I ever go back to Salzburg, this is where I would stay. It is very close to Hellbrun palace and main city center.

We can't say enough about the Gasthof Schorn. We were a family of eight and had four VERY large rooms with baths on a very private wing for 82 Euros a night including a wonderful breakfast! If there is any negative, it is that it is at an intersection and could be a bit noisy, but for us that made it so convenient to reach everything we wanted to see. The outdoor dining patio was lovely and the family that runs the hotel were very accommodating (we were traveling with four children, ages 5 to 13). I would return again and again..
