Booked a table to celebrate an 80th birthday, the staff were lovely, very good choice of meals, the chef made a special pudding especially for us, they even put a present for Mother on our table which was really lovely, going the extra mile for customers was very thoughtful. The craft shops in the centre are worth a visit; a mix of exclusive, clothing, household, and gift items. The décor of the restaurant is lovely, very arty, clean and fresh. Will be returning to look for presents without the family in tow!

Had a reasonably nice lunch here. The jacket potato was nice as was my coffee. The atmosphere was a little strained! Having 2 young children who were talkative seemed to be a crime to some of the stuffy customers sat nearby.
We seated ourselves in the conservatory area as to leave the main cafe clear for people without children. Found it off putting and I think the place has a following of retired snotty women who obviously have never had children or palmed them off with a nanny!!
Shame as I'm local and I'd use it more, maybe put a family area in would help

BAD start to our first wedding anniversary.....we stopped in for brekkie on our way to celebrate our First anniversary. They do not do a full english which was disapointing so we ordered a bacon and egg sarnie. It was ok, bread a bit stale....the sauce we ate then noticed it was BBE dec2012. Almost 6 months past date, the lady i told was not bothered at all and just said " oooh i don't expect it will do any harm!" she barely apologised.
The cafe itself is tired, the floor looked dirty. As did some of the chairs. It really needs some TLC. We will never visit again and will be sure to tell our friends about the out of date sauce....if that is out of date it makes you wonder what else they serve up past its BBE!
