“Peaceful and natural retreat”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

My family from Singapore came to visit. We booked a 2 night stay and travelled from Melbourne. The experience you get is like no other. With kangaroos at our doorstep, wombats marking their territory and the beautiful sounds of the mysterious, unseen animals. The flora and fauna of the bush is colourful and beautiful. The massive picture window in the bathroom is amazing! I just had to soak in the bath and look out to the nature. Thank you to the wonderful host, Mae, for giving us the much needed information, the respected privacy and the keys to the magical 'Correa Cabin'. The response from my family were all positive, they even stated that they would love to come back and visit the beach and the eco-retreat again and again!

“Venus Bay Eco Retreat”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

We stayed here for two lovely nights. Make sure you have a bath in the daylight so you can appreciate the private outlook through the huge picture window. The cabin was beautifully warm even though we were staying in mid-winter. We loved the beautiful bush and watching the birds. Mae's breakfast food was lovely, especially the home-grown, home-made selection of jams.

“True Retreat”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

We've stayed at Venus Bay Eco-Retreat 3 times, it is absolutely magical. The cabin itself is perfect very comfortable and welcoming. The environment is beautiful: native animals literally on your doorstep, crashing surf, unpolluted night sky and rain water to drink and bathe in.
You can be as adventurous or as laid back as you like. The highlight for me is to sit and wait for the kangaroos to come by and graze in the early evening. Mae is the epitome of welcoming host, knowledgable and interesting, discreet and friendly. An genuine retreat within a conservation area without any fashionable philosophy tacked on. Good for the soul.

“A magical part of the World”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

A place which was a wonderful advertisement for Australia - stunning coastline, amazing wildlife, the unique sounds of the bush. As an Australian living in the UK coming home to visit family, it was the perfect escape. And Mae was a great host who couldn't do enough to make our visit memorable. Thanks Mae!

“Beautiful Stay!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and just returned to Melbourne. We would already love to go back!

We planned this short weekend getaway for quite a long time. We were curious about this place, once we got there it was even better than we imagined. The setting was beautiful and relaxing. Waking up to the sounds of nature was great. We instantly relaxed.

Mae is a wonderful host. She taught us a lot about the area and educated us about plants and animals. She also took us on a great guided walk of the property and highlighted the importance of conserving nature.

The breakfast choices were delicious and organic. And the bath-tub was very relaxing and it is a nice having a hot bath after lots of bush walking during the day.

If you love nature and conservation, this is a special place to stay.
