As four mid-twenties friends, we came here to relax the weekend after Mardi Gras. The check-in staff must not have liked the look of us, as instead of being greeted cordially, the desk clerk's first words to us were, "This is not a party hotel. There are all kinds of people staying here, and if you party, you will be thrown out without a refund." You would think Charlie Sheen and his goddesses had just walked into the Conservative Christian PAC Annual Convention. Then they made us sign about four waivers each, and told us we would be fined $200 for smoking anywhere on the property, even outdoors! Now, only one person in our party even smoked. We all went to sleep about 10:00 p.m. our first night, and on the next day, upon passing the front desk, the clerk snidely commented, "There was a noise complaint about your room last night." Apparently if you are not over 55 years old or are not toting your young spawn, you are not welcome at this hotel.

Otherwise the amenities were fine. We were told the heated pool "gets up to 100 degrees," but it wasn't over 70 while we were there.

While I'm more inclined to stay at Hilton properties, I was swayed to this location because of the positive reviews - and I wasn't disappointed. GREAT location, staff, cleanliness and fantastic views from the spacious rooms makes this a good choice for families or business travelers.

My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel - we stayed four nights, and was not ready to leave!! Hotel was very clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were so friendly!! Every single one of the employees who work at this hotel always smiled and greeted you whenever you saw them :) :) I would stay here again anytime!!!

This hotel is very clean. All rooms face the Gulf. The public areas are spacious and well appointed. The staff here goes out of their way to welcome you and to make sure you have what you need.

Take a Holiday Inn Express - a generally safe and reliable brand. You know what you are going to get - courteous staff, a decent and clean room, a reasonable free breakfast, wi fi etc. Now take that hotel model and put it 6 steps away from the sand on Pensacola beach, with ALL rooms ocean facing. Add a small but immaculately maintained pool and deck area, staff who seem genuinely pleased to see you and who will chat happily for ages with you, crisp, fresh linen (even the beach towels) and perfectly maintained rooms and public areas. If you can live without the full service hotel add ons (room service, evening meal, bar) and are happy to crack open a supermarket beer on the terrace or on your balcony you simply cannot do better than this fantastic hotel. Sometimes, the less you pay, the more you get! Owned by the Dunes hotel group, this is one slickly run hotel. Will definitely return.
