“Smell of Mold”
Reviewed April 9, 2007

Room was Clean, but small . Room had a mold smell that was hidden by spray from cleaning team. Side of Commode was against wall . No Tub just a Shower. Stayed 2 days. No place to hang clothes except a hook on wall , behind entrance door. After arriving home clothes smelled of Mold.

Had a blast!

One of the last remaining "old-school" hotels on the island (no towering mega-plex). Parking right outside your door was very convenient for retrieval of items from our car. The staff was great and the rooms were clean. About what I was expecting, although I have to agree with a previous poster about the TV's (kind of an awkward angle). There was a bit of volume from the bands that were playing on the patio near the bar so if an early-to-bed type request a room away from the bar. As someone who likes mingling with the locals I enjoyed the mix of tourists and "beach-bums" and the bikers that frequent the bar. All around a good group. Very laid back. Great sun sets from the sound-side beach at the hotel.

A good time.

Well, if you have children, don't like to be awaken by drunk fools, or enjoy a calm and relaxing vacation..paradise inn is not for you! It is a big time local spot and that means it is swamped with people from 11am to about 3AM!!!!!. The staff is as trashy as the customers. The first night we stayed a man was passed out in the middle of the parking lot and had to be awoken by the police. The bartender helped him into the back of someone's car...not the police car. It is a haven for bikers who love to just rev thier engines...all night long might i add. It was not an ideal place to stay by any means. The beach is a rickity walk accross the street and down a path of debris and broken glass. This sounds crazy I know.....but it is true. Oh, and one more thing, the televisions are mounted almost directlly above the beds so you can not see them if you are laying down unless you want a crick in your neck all day...you have to lay accross the bed horizontally. And the staff is fully aware of this, yet they do nothing about it...go figure.

  • Liked — the pool was decent.
  • Disliked — the fact that it is a locals bar.

We were looking for a dog friendly hotel and most were scarey looking. We drove up to Paradise and the people all looked friendly, the room was very clean, the king bed was comfy. If you smoke, don't smoke in the room. They will charge you an extra $100. I do smoke but had no problems going outside and sit on the bench right in front of my door. We were planning on staying 1 night (on a business trip) but stayed 4!!! It was nice to have the bar/grill onsite so we didn't have to leave our puppy in the room too long, all by himself. The beaches in Pensacola are not dog friendly. But, we managed to get him in the ocean. They have free breakfast, which consist of microwable sausage biscuits, an egg/cheese/saus wrap, danish, muffin, coffee, juices. That made mornings pretty simple.

Might become our new campsite.

Stayed one Friday night. King size bed that was pretty good for a motel. The bathroom consisted of a tub and toilet and just enough room to shut the door. Sink was on other side of room. Had a desk but no table. The rooms with the king size beds were on the street side of motel. Asked about the rooms facing the water and they said they were so small they don't show them. There is a small restaurant/bar next to motel. Liked the decor of room. Had chairs right outside the door on the baloney. Would stay there again.
