I really like Hemmingway's - usually. Unfortunately, my last visit there was a great disappointment. First, before being seated, I stopped by the ladies' restroom. It was totally trashed-two toilets stopped up, paper towels everywhere. It looked as if no one had been to clean or service the restroom in days. Totally disgusting. Then we were seated. In Pensacola, there are billboards advertising 10 for $10 everyday, open to close. At the front of the restaurant there is a sign that states, 10 meals for $10. The sign was there that evening. I prefer smaller portions, so a smaller portion meal would be perfect for our dinner and all 4 of our dining party were planning on ordering from that menu. So, when we got our menus and there was not a mention of the mysterious 10 for $10 meals, I asked the waiter if we could see that menu. He said he would be right back with the 10 for $10 menu. He returned stating that the manager is not offering the 10 for $10 menu that evening. I questioned him re:the billboards as well as the sign out front but he said the manager would not honor that pricing tonight (Saturday night). We should have left then. After the disgusting state of the restrooms as well as the inflexible management that basically baited and switched us into eating there, I was furious. Due to their lack of customer service and unscrupulous business practices, Hemmingways is no longer an option for our family when dining in Pensacola Beach. Give me customer service any day over a pleasant view.
