Description: The Grand Marlin Restaurant features a main dining area with a shucked to order oyster bar, exterior North Drop Bar overlooking the beautiful Santa Rosa Sound, and private meeting rooms. This Pensacola Beach restaurant, with an air of island casualness, serves the highest-quality cuisine, including the freshest local seafood featured on menus designed and printed daily to take advantage of the local bounty. The atmosphere creates a fusion of the Caribbean and the Pensacola Bay Area. Executive Chef Gregg McCarthy has a passion for great-tasting food and particularly loves working his culinary magic with fresh Gulf Coast seafood. Boaters and beach-goers feel comfortable in shorts and flip-flops at the oyster bar, in the dining room and at the North Drop Bar. The Grand Marlin has a space and atmosphere for all occasions and is looking forward to creating an authentic experience between time and tide.

“Tasty but pricey food, Bar service was a bit off”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2014

We visited on a Friday night, and sat at the bar during happy hour. For some reason, even though a bar employee saw us multiple times, it took a while to get verbally acknowledged. My husband and I thought it was a bit strange. We didn't quite feel the "southern hospitality" connection that we have grown accustomed to since moving to Florida. The food was very good however, and I enjoyed the lump crab meat appetizer. The majority of it is actual crab meat and hardly any fillers. The baked oysters are good too. We split a Grouper dish and it was very tasty as well. We spent more than we expected however, and due to the lack of bar service when we first arrived, we will probably not be back for happy hour. Maybe it was just an off night for them and we might give them another try during their Sunday brunch. Can't beat the view!

“Expensive”

The food was good but not for the price you had to pay. I d say save your money and you could eat somewhere twice for what you paid here and get about the same

“Great meal Fantastic service!”

Celebrated my birthday at "The Grand Marlin". It was Sunday so we all had the Prime Rib. Excellent! Jenna was our waitress, she is the best. Very personable and efficient. We will be returning soon.

“An excellent meal without the ridiculous wait”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2014 via mobile

We drove by Peg Leg Pete's first and they were already jammed packed by 5:45pm so next we tried this place. They did not have a wait so we gave it a shot. My husband remembered the previous restaurant from years ago (Boy on a Dolphin), and the waiter told us the building was wiped out in Ivan and the owners sold to developers and it has been this restaurant ever since.

We had a lovely meal. We happened to be there just the two of us, but there were many families also. It is a step above, I believe, but they aren't too fussy about it. We ordered a seafood/pasta dish and a blackened fish sandwich. The sandwich was simple, but one of the best I've had. The service was great too.

We would definitely go back when we find ourselves in the area again.

“Desserts were great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2014

Our main courses were recommended, but we weren't impressed. The desserts were great. We had keylime pie and creme brulee.
