I went to the Ren Sheng Holiday Resort for three nights, mid-week, in mid-June with my sister, my mother, and two friends. It's located in Ruili (or Rueili), and managed by a family. The views are astonishing- the inn is built on multiple storeys that maximizes the views of tea fields, and it's pretty high up. It's very quiet, and at night the sky is gorgeous. They have a lot of outdoor seating, and the family also grows its own tea and will invite you to drink their local tea and chat with you at night. (The tea is also for sale.) Rooms are very clean and comfortable, plenty of hot water, comfy bedding. Because we had a midweek reservation, we were the only guests there and they upgraded us for free to the most expensive rooms (but we paid the cheaper room rate). If you go to their website, I believe that we were in rooms D7, D8, and D9. Breakfast and dinner are included and all are homemade meals. They varied in terms of taste/flavor, but you can let them know if you have dietary restrictions.
What's great about this place is that they take you around the area, basically for free. They took us to parks, farms, hiking paths, etc. It was really convenient and because we were the only guests, they were extremely flexible. My understanding is that at busier times (holidays and weekends), the excursions go at set times and you pile into a van.
All in all, a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend staying here- you get a great taste of local Taiwan flavor, and it isn't overcrowded.
