Owner description: Its length is about two hundred meters, and its architecture dates back to the early days when the Republic of China was newly established. Architecture buffs will enjoy this display of Japanese colonial architecture. Peruse historic relics and stores selling art and ceramics. Be sure to visit Zushi Temple, considered to be one of the most beautifully sculpted in Taiwan.

Have to walk quite a distance (20 minutes) from the bus stop. So better take a cab. Nothing much except for the 200m street with ancient bulidings on both sides.Aall have been converted into shops selling food/souvenirs. Shops close around 6-7 pm.

As stated in the title, we liked this street for its diverse offering in a more quiet subtle way. No crowds and no sellers yelling to sell their products... F&B shops here seemed to be more generous in giving you samples, which we were happy to before making our many purchases. Good food, no rush, old architecture still intact and interesting. Adds to the experience.

Ask your hotel (or just grab a cab and ask them) and they'll help you get to the nearest night market! Food, carnival games, lots of clothes, shoes (for little feet), cell phone knick knacks, and jewelry.

We took a cab that cost 5500 one way, arrived there at 7pm and all the shop in street were already closed! After a short walk around we found another taxi and with a translator we finally reached our hotel (other 5500 to come back). Long journey so if u decided to go do it in early part of the day!
