“Nestleton Waters Inn puts a lot of effort into each and everyone of their events”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Nestleton Waters Inn was truly a dream to work with. From the outset and throughout the planning process they were responsive, prompt, and accommodating.

The positives:
The grounds are absolutely stunning and are always extremely well kept. Guests absolutely loved it – they were not expecting something so beautiful and big. I'm told it was totally worth the bus ride and overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express Bowmanville.
The house is beautifully decorated, and each room has unique details and interesting pieces of artwork.
The entire team is professional and great to work with. From Claudia, the Event Co-ordinator, to Deborah, one of the owners, to the service staff on the day, everyone was fantastic.
They just got it all right. I cannot recall a single detail being different on the wedding day then we planned.
The A/V system – the microphones didn't crackle, and you could clearly hear the music.
The food was delicious – both at the Inn and on the night of the wedding. At the Inn we were given things like fresh baked cinnamon rolls and homemade chocolate mousse for breakfast. Yes please! For the wedding dinner we worked with Derek from Chantrelle's. Several guests told me it was the best wedding food they'd ever had.
It was great to be able to stay at the venue the night before. Our bridal party was from three different continents so it was a wonderful chance for everyone to get to know each other before the wedding. I highly recommend it if it's possible for the circumstances.

A few minor things that I would suggest for improvements:
The contract is 12 pages of mind-boggling text. I know contracts can be challenging to read at the best of times, but I would recommend NWI makes theirs more succinct and comprehensive.
We had to use the DJ that NWI supplies. While he was very nice and easy to work with, he didn’t quite follow our directions and began playing very generic pop music, exactly the kind we were trying to avoid. The Taylor Swift love ballad cleared the dance floor and it wasn't until I asked him to put on some 80ies songs did people return to dance again.
Despite having big gorgeous Jacuzzis in most rooms, bubble bath was not supplied!

These were very minor issues, however. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for somewhere unique, personal and beautiful to hold their wedding or special event. We could not have been happier with our day.

Thank you thank you for coming from so far... from three continents in fact, to stay with us! Thank you for entrusting such an auspicious and important occasion to us for your care. You touched on so many valued details that we passionately continuously work on, and it makes us happy that you've intimated we're getting so many things right... I LOVE bubble baths, so why not? :) We get such a thrill out of seeing our bridal couples have a worry free magical wedding day and we are copious note takers especially given the LONG distance planning... We promise to keep refining at this end, and as for the two of you, we have no doubt you will keep being an inspiration! You're the best and we miss you already! xoxo

Our wedding was on September 1st, 2013. When we sent out the invitations to our wedding guests who are mainly from Toronto and West of the city telling them we were having our wedding East of the city in a place many of them had never heard of there were some complaints, but at the wedding people came up to us and said "this place is incredible and worth the drive!" The outdoor ceremony and tented reception were both stunning and done with class and elegance. Their property is extremely well groomed and kept with easy access for wheelchairs which was required at our wedding.

The entire process from inquiring about the venue to the actual wedding day was pleasant because the staff makes everything so easy. My husband and I felt very taken care of by all the staff and all of our requests were heard and accommodated in a professional and warm-hearted manner; there is no lack of smiley faces in their email correspondence.

A wedding planner, Claudia, is included in the wedding package and she really knows her stuff and did her best to make our wedding vision a reality. We would show her pictures from Pinterest or other websites and she would just make it happen or let you know how modifications can be made to work within your budget and theme.

Our immediate family and relatives stayed at the Inn overnight after the wedding and they loved the rooms. Erica prepared a delicious brunch for overnight guests the next morning and makes you feel like family, she was actually conversing in German with some of our guests who travelled from Germany! It's hard not to fall in love with that lady and the rest of the staff.

We did not have to worry about anything on the wedding day and if something unexpected popped up, the coordinators just used their ear pieces like well trained CIA agents to resolve any issues.

some unique aspects of our wedding were that I arrived to the ceremony on horse (Pete) & carriage, we had a harpist play some songs along with the DJ for the ceremony, the coordinator set up a beautiful sculpted petal path along the isle and we took their red canoe for a joy ride on the water after the ceremony which made for some great pictures/video and our guests loved the sneak peak before the reception entrance. My little sister sang a slow song at the reception and we ended off the night with a sparkler send off, which was beautifully orchestrated and lots of fun!

If you are thinking of doing your wedding there, check out their Facebook page under albums for ideas. Our Album is there under "The one my soul loves" Cindy and Richard. Deborah stays up late the night of the wedding creating your album with the pictures she takes and writes you a poem describing the night, all while getting your envelopes and belongings organized safely for an easy exit the next morning. She also gave us a CD with all the pictures the next day.

We chose Derek Leung as our caterer who makes a mean crème brulee which was delicious. We served a choice of top sirloin, salmon and chicken stuffed with mushroom risotto. Everything was incredible but some guests complained that their steak was too rare, but they were immediately accommodated. we also had a beautiful heirloom tomato salad which was so colourful. Derek is truly a Master chef and his love of food is contagious which was evident when we met him for the tasting, which might be the best meal I have ever had!

The only issue some guests had was that the bar closed during dinner service. We were aware of this ahead of time and had wine on the tables, but the venue has to comply with certain bylaws and this was one of them, along with only serving 1 drink per guest at a time, no doubles and no shots. At first I was disappointed with this but it really prevents guests from getting too drunk and sick, which is a great safely measure especially with the pond so close at night. Guests were the perfect amount of drunk; dancing and having fun all night.

This place is the best, we had a beautiful wedding, so much fun and everything was care-free. I highly recommend this venue and will return to visit on our anniversary and special occasions. Thanks to all the staff!!! :)

We appreciate how much time you took to give us thoughts and notes. Thank you so much! Given that we do destination weddings and look after most wedding details for our couples, our agreements define every tiny element and in most cases that's many pages full... Whew! Thank heavens for all these notes as we rely on them to help things flow smoothly on the wedding day. Thanks for noticing our ear pieces, a new "James Bond" addition this year that keeps us on top of everything across this large property. ;) We're so happy you liked your poem inspired by the many magical details you envisioned... here's your poem:

“Black satin, French vanilla, pearls,
White vendella roses swirled,
Coffee leaves all sprayed with gold...
Weren’t the two of you so bold,
You braved the pond in red canoe,
Said your vows, the big “I Do!”
Danced, ate cake, and partied on,
And everyone they sure had fun!”
Your romance took our breath away! You are a delightful couple and we are all so happy for you! Congratulations! Sincerely, your friends at Nestleton!

We got married here on August 30, 2013. We fell in love with the venue from the moment we saw it. The owners and staff are amazing, they treat you like family. This is an incredible place to get married, they are so organized, helpful, and accommodating. We met with their amazing wedding coordinator Claudia who I can't say enough about, we explained our vision and she brought it to life! The Inn is gorgeous with all its different rooms and beautifully landscape grounds which make for an amazing backdrop for pictures. Our wedding day was a dream come true and all over guests could not stop raving about how gorgeous the Inn was. We had amazing time and we will be back for sure for our anniversary. Thank you so much again Nestleton Waters Inn for making our wedding memorable.

“Cream Dream” Linens, Calla Lilies,
Pinot Noir, and dress up sillies...
In the late night photo booth,
Slide show tribute of your youth.
"We watched you laugh, and dance, and kiss,
All your friends they couldn’t miss,
What you’ve known for years till now...
You were meant to say these vows!
You were meant to say “I do”
Congratulations to both of you!”
We loved everyone’s songs with the word love in them to make you kiss! We loved the poignant words shared in tribute speeches! What an incredible wedding! Congratulations! Sincerely, your friends at Nestleton!

I can not say enough wonderful things about this Inn or about the owners! I stayed here in July 2013 due to a business trip. My 2 colleagues also stayed here and loved it. Since we had reserved 3 rooms, we looked through them all and decided who would take what room. I chose the Cameo suite. Loved the balcony off my room as it faces the lake. My colleagues and I sat out here at night to enjoy the lake fountains and listen to the frogs croaking. The room and bathroom were so beautiful. I spent an afternoon soaking in the whirlpool tub.

Erika, the owner, is such a gracious and lovely woman. She cared for us as if we were her daughters. So sweet! Breakfast was delicious and she had even picked currants from her garden for part of our fruit plate. She had made homemade jam and bread, along with thick bacon and cheesy omelettes.

The grounds are magical and we toured their wedding island and we 3 ladies all wished we were getting married there! This is just such a beautiful and romantic place! Hope to be back here for business again!

Room Tip: One of my colleagues had the top floor suite which is like an apartment. Very handy for stashing ou...

We're so delighted you could come and stay with us while on business and enjoy some repose with your colleagues... This spring for the first time, I was finally able to uncover a small green tree frog's hideaway where it was loudly bellowing a song to impress a would be mate! What a performance, it's tiny throat stretching to full capacity Dizzy Gillespie style... wow! My heart is swelling too, with pride for my mom who's incredible spirit, baking, and going so far as to pick currents or other seasonal berries and to make fresh jellies for our guests, is such an inspiration! Thank you so much for writing! ;)

On June 22, 2013 we attended our son's wedding at the Nestleton Waters Inn. We were surprised and delighted with this wonderful wedding destination. This was the first time we had seen it - at our son and daughter-in-law's wedding. What a fantastic choice they made for all their arrangements. The staff were more than helpful, the accommodations were excellent, and the location was out of a fairy tale. Such a wonderful place to create wedding memories and entertain wedding guests. The cocktails and dinner were held under large tents overlooking a large pond, surrounded by flowers and beautifully maintained grounds and gardens. What a location! The wedding dinner was delicious and the DJ provided lots of dance music for everyone. The brunch the next morning was excellent as well and the staff were totally helpful and welcoming. Clearly they love what they are doing. Overall the experience created unforgettable memories, all courtesy of the Nestleton Waters Inn and staff! Thank you so much!!

Room Tip: There are about 9 rooms at the Inn so additional guests have to use a local hotel which is also quit...

This wedding was so beautiful... Here's a little poem about this happy memory:
“So much magic, so much pride,
When father took his girl aside,
To whisper tender moments there,
To show how much he truly cared.
From Sweden your friends came to be,
Privy to festivities...
We saw such fun, such joy all round’
Your two hearts glowed, for they had found,
Their match for which they wished to share,
A new life now! You’re quite the pair!”
Thank you for a beautiful inspiring day, and best wishes!

We were privileged to attend a wedding this weekend at Nestleton Waters Inn. The grounds are lovely and beautifully maintained. The food provided for dinner and pre-dinner snacks was delicious. I was a bit surprised that there was no non-alcoholic alternative to the champagne provided for toasts. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We did not stay at the inn and could not evaluate the rooms but we were told they were lovely.

Thank you so much Sandra for taking the time to write about your experience at Nestleton Waters Inn. It's always good to get that little check up and to see what we can do to make our guest experience even better! ;) While our bar service always includes many non-alcoholic options (i.e. pop, juice, coffee, tea, iced cucumber water etc.) which our guests will use for toasting if they don't prefer champagne, I did speak with our bar service to see if when our couples off a champagne toast he could include some non-alcoholic champagne for any guests who prefer, and he said absolutely! So there you go, your idea in motion! Big hugs! xoxo

Our wedding day was just magical! Everything went by the plan, thank to the highly organized personnel. The Inn and the park around it is just a perfect place to get married and amaze your guests with your choice of the venue. We loved everything about it - beautiful house, garden, lake, food!!! DJ provided by the hotel was super nice and considered all of our preferences. Thanks Steve Madden! :) Thank you everyone involved! We could not be happier about our important day...

Room Tip: Any room of this little Inn will amaze you, but the best one was called Mappenzi. Go for it!

What an absolutely stunning intimate wedding! We loved the pink and white, the elegant touches of champagne, silver chargers, your first kiss as a married couple, your first dance, an incredible meal with late night specialties, and even looking outside at dusk with the twinkle lights and seeing a blue heron fishing peacefully in the pond with celebrations into the night... We thoroughly enjoyed having you celebrate your wedding with us! Thank you so much! Congratulations to you both! ;)
