“Interesting but expensive”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

The most enjoyable part of the park was being able to get above the tree tops on the suspended walkways. Not for those with a fear of heights. I felt the enclosures for the Jaguars was much too
small. Worth a visit though . Cost was 14.50 Euros per person. Not inexpensive.

“Interesting Place to Visit...”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

On the Route de Traverse, this is a zoo with some interesting animals. It also is a jungle experience with a walk in the tree tops that is unique -- and fun! The layout can be confusing at times -- they were reparing part of the high walk ways and the signs were every which way -- and I read French.

The highlights are the animals -- very fun to see -- the big jaguars in particular. They seem to be more active during the day then I expected so it was fun to see them moving around.

Certainly worth a few hours of your time -- unique experience in a lovely setting!

“Up in the trees”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

We were not impressed by the animals (and even less by the bug collection) as we had visited other parks with a much more impressive variety of species but we enjoyed a lot the hike through the forest. The most interesting part was walking on the suspended wooden bridges that link the trees and that allow you to observe the tropical forest from the top of the trees. Nice Tarzan adventure!

“Two parks in one - Zoo and Botanical”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

This small park is located on the Route de la Traversee, on the west end near Mahaut. The beautiful setting is the mountainous tropical rainforest of Guadeloupe's National Park. The park is clean and well organized, where you follow a trail, along which you can observe either animals or trees and plants. There also is a tree-top walk on suspended wooden bridges in one section. Entrance fee is 13 euros per adult. Overall, an impressive site in a beautiful setting... a must-do while in Guadeloupe.

“Forest hike + Zoo combo”
Reviewed July 27, 2012

This zoo is more like a tropical forest hike with animals on the side. Wear your hiking strap ons shoes or something that has good grip.

The animals variety is not huge, but the fact that this zoo is built into a tropical forest setting is definitely impressive.

There are even suspended bridges between the trees so that you can a feel of what it's like to be high up in the trees. The view up there is amazing. (my pictures do not do its justice; the real thing was a lot better)

Everything is in French, so not much to read for me.

Entrance fee is 13EU for adults
