Stayed three nights recently when visiting Zion. For about the same price as staying at a hotel we instead got to stay at a nice cozy little house. It's only about 20-30min away from the entrance to Zion and it was worth the extra drive. There's not much in the town, but it is close to a gas station and supermarket. The house itself was very clean and had every amenity I could think of. Access to washer and dryer was very nice as well as a dishwasher. Wifi and netflix were great to have. Inclusion of pancake mix and syrup made me super giddy after a few days of eating trail food. Im a sucker for pancakes.
There were a few downsides though.
First was that there were roaches in the house. It started off as a couple the first night. The second night I was sitting on the couch and found one crawling on my leg. By the end of the night my friend and I had found 5 more. Im not too bothered by bugs so it wasn't a big deal for me, but a lot of people they would not like to deal with roaches. My friend who I was staying with was really freaked out. I don't know if it was really the owners fault. It was raining hard so that may have been a factor. They also could have come from one of the neighbors. We informed the owner of the roaches so she may have dealt with the issue by now.
Second thing, when it rained, water seeped through the front awning so you would get wet if you had to step outside.
The worst part about the house was that the neighbors had roosters that would crow early every morning. It's not something that's the owners fault but it may be something you have to deal with.

Dear Guest,
Thanks so much for coming and staying with us while you hiked in Zion.
I was sorry to hear about the roaches. It must have had something to do with the big rain that we had. I sprayed right after you checked out and found dead ones outside, but none inside. I am not sure what happened because we have never had a guest before or after that has seen roaches. I guess it was just nature doing its thing.
I was not aware of the awning issue, I will look into it.
As for the roosters, they seem to be a recent addition to the neighborhood and I will see if I can come up with a solution with the neighbor. I guess some of those things come with small town life, but I will mention it in our description.
Thanks again for staying with us and helping us to be aware of improvements we can make to make your stay as nice as possible.
