“I Love ZMR ! !”

I just want to say that I loved my stay at ZMR and have already forwarded the website to two friends that need a get-a-way. The place is just beautiful, the staff warm and friendly, the facilities clean and comfortable. I can't wait to go back!!!!!

My husband and I heard about this Resort only a few miles from Zion National Park that was fantastic and said it would be perfect for us to spend our anniversary. We first looked up the website and were impressed by its quality and amount of information and how user-friendly it was. Although it was possible to book on-line, we had a few questions and so we called the number directly to make our reservation. We are retired and travel for the majority of the year and have been to many wonderful places, but this place was special. After being impressed by the website, I was even more impressed when I called and talked to the most helpful, personable, knowledgeable reservation agent we have come across. Her name was Brandie (same as my niece!)and she was wonderful and more than willing to help in any way she could. We were hoping to meet her when we arrived and were pleasantly surprised to find out she was also the desk person who would check us in. We knew it was her right away from the smiling, friendly way she talked to the couple infront of us. She greeted us in the same friendly manner she treated us on the phone and checked us into a magnificantly comfortable, cozy, clean cabin that we enjoyed for two relaxing days.

The restaurant on site was small, but the food was tasty and the service was great and personable. Our server was very friendly and helpful and the view was nice both times we ate there. The location was perfect right next to Zion, and a short hour from Bryce Canyon. It was the most relaxing, hassle-free vacation we have had in a while and the friendly staff of Brandie and our server to the maintenance man who helped with our fireplace made the trip even that much better. We have had several unfortunate instances of going to wonderful locations, but dealing with unhelpful, unfriendly staff made the trip bad regardless of the location. It makes such a difference. We highly recommend this Resort and from what we understand, they are fairly new and have plans on expanding greatly........although they are perfect as they are. ENJOY!!!!

My wife and I took a spring trip to Vegas for a couple of days and then went on up to Zion and Bryce Canyon for some sightseeing. I decided to book Zion based on the fact that they were close to both parks and my wife and I wanted a relaxing time away from the kids.

We had a wonderful time at Zion and the facilities at Zion Mountain Resort were very good. The accomodations were clean and comfortable and the staff was very knowlegable and friendly. Despite what a couple of reviews had to say it was not loud and we did not notice the road noise at all.

We also ate at the Buffalo Grill which was fantastic. At the time we went there in March there were not a lot of places open and we were very pleased to have such a good restaurant right at the Resort.

The main way that I determine whether to recommend a hotel or resort is whether it lives up to it's own billing on it's website. Zion Mountain Resort definately lived up to it's billing and I would definately stay there again if I am in the area.

We usually spend a week at Zion Nat'l Park each year at this time. The crowds are gone, the air crisp and beautiful for hiking.
This place was the first part of that week. It was supposed to be a "gift" for attending a local timeshare presentation lasting 2 hours, but instead it was a level TWO presentation, also 2 hours in duration. Getting them to call us back to confirm the reservations took 5 days!! They also took a credit card # and told us we would be charged $50 for failure to show or cancel timely. Later we found out it was actually $150 if a no-show!!!
When we checked in, we were told, by the nice but inebriated lady behind the desk, that the time share folks would be getting in touch with us that evening. Once we were in our cabin, we discovered there were no phones. Seems even cell phones do not work out there. Cabin was cute and cozy, tho dusty and cobwebby. TV was a postage stamp size, frig in the MIDDLE of the closet, instead of UNDER the counter-top. Approach to stairs was rocky and uneven, a sure fire ankle turner waiting to happen. Maid service was a drive- by van with supplies. Woke the next a.m. and drove down the hill to the lobby to see about the "meeting" and were told that it was in a cabin up near where we were staying. They then gave us the wrong #'d cabin and we roamed around til someone flagged us down.
After the timeshare "dance" and the sad news that they want to develop this area and sell 1/4 ownerships in homes, resort privileges, subsequent golf courses and water park planned as well, we headed out for REAL sightseeing. Beautiful country...but see it now and see it fast....for soon it will be gone and a huge development will rise in its place.

What a friendly and hospital reception we got on that late evening in October 2006 when we got stuck on the road to Zion NP because they closed the road because of blasting rocks. So we could not enter Zion in time in order to reach Zion Lodge where we had reserved. Without any problem the friendly two ladies of Zion Mountain Resort reserved a nice chalet for us and arranged with Zion Lodge that they would not charge us for not signing up! A very luxury chalet with all the confort we hoped to find in the Official Zion Lodge (and we did not find there afterwards!) like a good bath, a little kitchen, good beds, and so on. And they arranged a special price for us also for the lodging we did there two nights later on our way back from the Park. Very nice and accurate people, a very well kept shop with good quality of souvenirs, a very good restaurant. A place to go the next time we might be in Utah and visit Zion NP. An excellent and relatively cheap alternative for the Zion Lodge! And at very short distance from the Park!

Fortunately we came to visit Zion National Park and only needed a place to eat and sleep. The accomodations were comfortable and clean during our stay. We booked too late to stay at Zion Lodge so we were glad to find a place close to the park. We spent 1 night in a meadowview cabin across the road. They are very basic without much of a view. We did enjoy the wild turkeys that wandered by in the morning. We also stayed in a buffalo vista suite which was very nice with a large porch overlooking the buffalo meadow. I don't think all of the suites have a view of the meadow so you might want to request one that does. Our experience in the Buffalo Grill was dismal. The view was obstructed by tall weeds and flies were everywhere. The teenage wait staff tried hard but didn't seem well trained. Our very expensive dinners were mediocre and when the salad was forgotten one evening we simply got a shrug and never any salad. This is not a resort -- just a cluster of cabins in a pretty setting and some buffalo. Our rating would have been higher if not for the restaurant. At the time we stayed (July 2005), there weren't any other dining choices nearby.

After several days in Las Vegas, this is just what we needed. Perfect for 2 couples traveling together as we had a "suite" with 2 very comfortable master bedrooms, 2 porches, large living and dining rooms and kitchenette. We did a day trip to Bryce Canyon and a day trip to Zion (loved them both). On our first night there was a campfire overlooking the buffalo herd, complete with smores and a full moon. A relaxing bath in a champagne tub completed the evening. After hiking both parks during the day, a quiet, relaxing night in front of the gas stoves was perfect! Only regret not having enough time to take the ATV tour. I guess we will just have to go back!
