“Beautiful location but getting "rustic".”
Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here several years ago and LOVED it. The restaurant was SO-SO then but we hoped it might have improved. We found this trip the food was no better and restaurant was just not very clean looking. I like rustic, but not dirty. The cabins have deferred maintenance needed, but you cannot beat the views or the location.

My husband & I came here for our honeymoon unsure what to expect after reading some poor reviews, but we found ourselves very pleasantly surprised. People where friendly, our honeymoon suite was GREAT! The views were beautiful & the food was worth every penny. Dinner especially! Do to poor weather our plans had to change a bit & I feel terrible for forgetting her name at the front desk, but she did everything to accommodate us & was very friendly about it.

My husband & I would come back in a heart beat & stay at this lovely resort. We would also highly recommend it to anyone else. Oh & for those who must have their phones &/or computers attached at the hip, we had little service from our room but there is service at the office. All though, other than to check the weather I wouldn't want to even check my phone or computer at all, but for those who need it, yes, it's available.

We can't wait to share this place with others & come back ourselves for another romantic vacation.

Thank you all so much!

Room Tip: Loved our south side room. Great views!

We stayed here for six nights in mid September. The weather was absolutely perfect! The resort is in perfect proximity to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. We stayed in the Buffalo Retreat Lodge and enjoyed every minute of our stay. It was well maintained, fully equipped and deliciously quiet. The management is very attentive but not intrusive. We were able to absorb magnificent vistas of the surrounding mountains and plateaus on our private decks. Our cabin had two master suites and a full kitchen so we could really stretch out, relax, fix meals and enjoy. The restaurant was great too, with home made apple cobbler, ribs, and prime rib. We could not have been happier with our stay in this gorgeous part of the country. It's off the beaten path, but worth every minute of your time. Canyon country is full of wonderful vistas around every curve in the road! Don't miss it

The six of us stayed here after our wedding, when we took our out of town parents traveling. My husband and I crashed on the futon couch while the parents each took a bedroom. It was marvalous. We spent the days hiking and working up a sweat, only to come back, open a beer, relax, and sit on the patio while taking in the sun set.

We stayed at the Ranch for two nights. Traveling with another couple, we each had a small cabin, including a couch and table. Lovely views, quiet, very accessible to Zion National Park. The second night, our AC unit quit; they immediately put us in a cabin designed for a large family. We ate both nights in the restaurant adjacent to the lodge. The food was fabulous, as was the service. We would definitely stay here again.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Zion Mountain Ranch. We were attending a wedding near Zion. The place is utterly charming. The cabin was the perfect size for the two of us. It came with a fridge and microwave. We had a great view of the meadow and the mountains. The bathroom was nice. TV reception was poor, but since the idea is to get away from it all, we were not really disappointed. We found out the next morning that they have DVD's at the reception location which you can borrow to watch. The breakfast we had at the onsite restaurant was good. It was a set-price buffet but it worked for us. I would definitely recommend Zion Mountain Ranch.

A friendly welcome awaits you at this isolated ranch just outside the eastern boundary of the National Park. Luxury it is not, but our cabin (no. 157) was spacious and came with a fridge and microwave in case you wanted to provide for yourself. We had patchy views through the trees beyond other cabins in front of us of the open pasture where the buffalo graze. I'd recommend asking for a 'room with a view'. The room was generally clean but the log walls could have done with a good vacuuming as they were covered in a layer of dust and cobwebs. The ranch restaurant 'The Buffalo Grill' provides breakfast and dinner. Good home cooked food served by really friendly helpful staff.
