gorgeous views, partially covered trail by rock overhang. Tiny parking lots, one on the right as soon as you exit the tunnel, heading away from the lodge area. The other parking lot about 200 ft. before you enter the tunnel heading toward the lodge. Bring water.

“Breathtaking views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

The Observation Point hike was the high point of our hiking in Zion, literally and figuratively. The hike from the canyon floor was about 8 miles round trip and took us about 5.5 hr. We stood around at the top for awhile chatting with others and marveling at the views and ate our lunch on the way down somewhere in the slot canyon part of the hike. The hike had a little bit of everything, smooth switchbacks, slot canyons with steep dropoffs, rim exposures that were a little hairy, switchbacks cut into the side of cliffs and a nice flat area at the top just right for sitting around resting for the trip down. It seems that you can see forever from Observation Point and at 6500 ft high, Observation Point was way above Angel's Landing and the view of the canyon is tremendous.

“Best place to celebrate a 30th anniversary”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

If you want to be on top of the world, this is your place. An easy climb up 2000 ft of well-graded trail (I recommend walking poles), sometimes narrow, but the pay off was amazing. Smoochy pictures of us celebrating our special day. Couldn't have been more romantic.

“Awesome hike!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

If you are in great shape and can muster the 4 miles up I highly recommend this hike

Starts out with switchbacks then goes through a cool canyon, then straight up

Recommend you start no later than 930 to avoid the heat most times of the year

“Great hike”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

This is a great hike maybe a little strenuous for some people but the view is worth it and bring lots of water if it's warm. If you are a good hiker on the way is Hidden Canyon and not so far. I'd suggest doing it after returning from Observation Point as you might be a little tired if you are in condition.
