“Breathtaking View”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Awesome view from the top. Not a lot of shade along the way. It was about 90 degrees the day we went. Make sure to bring lots of water and use the restroom at the Visitor Center before you come on this trail as their facilities at the trailhead do not provide water and the restroom is an outhouse.

“worth the hike”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

It's a long hike but worth it. You get to go through echo canyon where you see how the river has cut through rock, great views around the whole area. The top part is pretty flat (last 1 mile). Head up early and eat early lunch up top. But you don't want to get caught up top in a storm. It's pretty exposed for over 2 miles.

“Awesome hike!!! Do it!!”
Reviewed September 16, 2012 via mobile

Started at 10am, finished at 3pm. About 1.5h for breaks and photos. Take water. The majority of the trail is paved. You pass incredible vista points and gorges. It was kind of adventure to see different landscapes. You camera will be enabled the most times. We figured the best time to start would be early morning maybe 9am because then you see the whole west side valley in the sun, or maybe later around 2pm, to see the other side pictured by the sun. Anyhow it will be one of my favorite hikes I ever did.

“Very nice view”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

The trail is not so nice overall. Most of it is "paved" and artificially blasted into the rock. I don't like this mistreatment of nature. But the outlook from the Observation point is very nice. You can look down at the people on Angles Landing. Best hiking time is in the morning otherwise it gets very hot. Took us 4 hours + viewing time.

“Best view of Zion”
Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

We hiked Obsevation Point instead Angels Landing for two reasons: 1) we talked to a ranger (Ranger Gretchen) in Canyonlands Park and she said it gave the best view of Zion Park (rangers always give great site seeing advice) and 2) we were hiking with a friend that was not comfortable with narrow trails and shear drop-off and the chains of Angels Landing.
We were very satisfied with the hike. The hike was approx 8 miles round trip (4 up to the top and 4 back down to the trail head). The first three miles gain elevation but the last mile is realativly flat. The view was spectacular and actually looks down on Angels Landing. If you like hiking and are up to the mileage this is a must do.
