“Head to the Narrows”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2012

Nice moderate hike with plenty to offer on its own merit but, it is also the entry point for a Narrows excursion. Don't be tempted to wander very far without the proper gear. We went a few hundred yards and 46 degree water is no joke.

A nice easy walk on paved path. At the and you can cross the river to walk the Narrows Trail. Don't forget to bring a towl to dry your feet if you do cross the river

“Go early in the morning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

We went around 7:00 am and had the trail mostly to ourselves. On the way out, we starting meeting all the people hiking up the River Walk to the Gateway to the Narrows. Lots of great picture opportunities. Had a deer jump the fence onto the trail just in front of us on his way to the river to get a drink.

While the autumn colors are beautiful, the hanging gardens are spectacular in the spring when they are in full bloom (we were then in May the last time).

“Don't miss it”

This is a very pretty and easy hike from the last bus stop and well worth doing. Take your time and stop off along the river to take in the views and soak up the atmosphere.

“Pretty”

Nice, short, easy hike along a paved trail. There are places to access the river and beaches too. This trail is popular and crowded, so be prepared to take your time!
