My favorite way to enjoy the pools is to take the bus to the groto stop (after the lodge). then hikd back using the kyenta trail. You then head over to the lower pools, circle up to the middle pool and then head up to the upper pool. the upper pool trail has been improved this year so it is a great experience. Fun to watch the weaping waterfall and pool at the top. You finish up heading down the trail to the lodge. Good times for the entire family. Fun to get a smoothie or icecream at the lodge afterward

The photo is not of Emerald Pools, but the pools is one of the most traveled hikes in the park. There are 3 pools. The lower, middle and upper pool.

We were pressed for time after Angel's Landing, so we tried to squeeze in the Lower Pools. On a sunny day with a bit of prismatic mist, the dribbling fall might be interesting (or if the fall had more volume). The pool itself was a mossy scumhole. Maybe the upper pools are better, but I'd say give this one a miss and walk along the river instead.

Zion National Park is worth a visit for sure, we drove over 2 half hours to get to this place from Vegas. Only downfall is that the Emerald Pool's are only worth visiting after there's been rain. Otherwise it's just a lame waterfall.
