Angel's Landing is the most famous climb in Zion, offering gorgeous views into the Canyon towards the Big Bend. It has a risky cliff part near the top, which according the signs on display has already cost nine hikers their lives! Regrettably when we visited it was closed because the path was blocked by a refrigerator sized boulder which had just dropped of the mountain ... yes erosion is also a present day process. Fortunately we could still get some fantastic Canyon views at the Canyon Overlook Point which can be reached from the exit in the tunnel in the Zion-Mt Carmel Highway (HW12).

If you are able to journey on this hike...DO IT! Even if you aren't able to finish, the views are amazing each time you peer off the trail.

I had such elation
From getting to the top. It was a long slog of zig zagging up. The views at the top are out of this world. There is even a toilet there, not flushing obviously but still if nature calls.... well worth it.

Angels Landing is one of the world great hikes. A must do for all hiking lovers.

It is not really strenuous, as described by the park. It is adventurous, with incredible spots to climb and lots of high anxiety moments, you do not find easily at other hikes.

It is about a 4km hike onwards, and subsequently 4 km back. Only the last 800m are the real adrenaline part. But what an adrenaline!

Taking it step by step, holding on the the iron ropes and really watching your step, should not create any unacceptable risks for no one.

One does not need walking sticks. They will even be in the way. In winter one does need spikes , to overcome icy rock.

However, it is not without danger. Stupidity or negligence can easily cause serious harm. These days, stupidity and negligence comes from those who put photos and selfies first before safety.

Don’t get into this. Take photos on the moments you can. And take much more memories with you.

Angels Landing is definitely an adventure. I didn’t go out past the view point, but other family members did complete the last part of trail with chains.

I write the review to let others know there is a absolutely beautiful spot to enjoy the view if you do not feel adventurous enough to take the trail with chains. I did not know about the viewpoint - wanted to share

The hike go that part is mostly paved, pack your water for sure!
