“Excellent location - Clean and basic”

If you are going to go to Zion National Park and stay overnight this lodge is your best option. The lodge is in the main section of the park. Excellent setting. Restaurant on site. Hiking trails leaving from the lodge. But best of all is when you walk out of the lodge and look up at Zion's cliff's all around you it is so beautiful you want to just stand for a couple of minutes without moving.

Water bottle refill is available at the hotel. TVs are included. VZ wireless texting and phone calls work from outside at the lodge. WIFI is included with your stay.

Bring comfortable shoes because you will love walking around.

Reserve well in advance.

We stayed at Zion Lodge in a cabin in early December for four nights. We really enjoyed the rustic accommodations. Very few guests which was a plus for us. We saw a grey fox in the parking lot on several evenings. Also saw a six point buck outside our cabin door.

We came to the lodge after being disappointed at another Springdale hotel. The building was more modern than I expected after staying at other national park lodges. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We liked the cozy lodgey decor and the rooms are a good size. Views from building B front and back rooms are good. Price in winter seemed fair at $139 per room.

I would have easily given this hotel five stars if the food servers hadn't been so condescending. Had we eaten there only once, I would have blown it off but we actually had dinner there and then breakfast the next two mornings. I wouldn't have eaten there again after my dinner experience but breakfast was included with the room.

Definitely go though! Everything else was excellent.

As one would expect, there is no television and no decent cell service...a nice reprieve.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Zion Lodge in a cabin for one night. We went to Bryce Canyon and Zion from Vegas and enjoyed every minute of the excursion. There was availability because we stayed for one night in early March, but I'm sure in peak season, the Lodge is packed. Our cabin was comfortable and the fireplace was a welcome convenience when the temperatures got into the 30s at night. The restaurant at the main building wasn’t gourmet, but the food was good and our breakfasts were included with our room rate. The sky is breathtaking at night, very dark and filled with stars. Don’t forget, Zion is an hour behind Vegas! More than one group of people almost missed breakfast because of the time change.

Because of the distance from park entrance to the trails and lodge, I can see no reason not to book a cabin right in the midst of the action. Walk outside your door in the early morning and you're right there! Beautiful light, deer browsing, walk to the main lodge for a little breakfast. Did I mention turn on your own gas fireplace? Totally cool. And in season you get a parking pass to take your car to the lodge, rather than have to depend totally on the shuttle. Of course, shuttle to the Temple trail, but many of the trails begin on your doorstep.

Room Tip: Cabins are more fun than the 2-floor larger buildings. No room in main lodge which is dining and a r...

We stayed in cabin number 522; queen bed, fireplace and porch; beautifully renovated historic cabin, clean and plenty of space, centrally located within Zion Canyon, easy access to shuttle and food concessions at the Lodge. The setting in the canyon is breathtaking, both at sunrise and sunset times; stunning to see the sun and shadows on the cliffs. Also, don't miss the dark, starry skies here in the canyon! During our four night stay in late September, we used the porch during the day (when not exploring the park), and the fireplace every chilly evening. The cabin itself was about a five minute walk from the main lodge, since the hotel is located between the cabin area and the Lodge. It seemed all cabins had a great view, except for one or two that faced an outdoor vending machine; something to mention when booking. Prices are what you would expect for accommodations within a national park. We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay here.

Room Tip: Avoid the one or two cabins that face an outdoor vending machine
