Really enjoyed the free tram. It was a hot day so getting around on the tram was really appreciated. Great views from the windows. Round trip takes about 1 hour.

The shuttles in Springdale and within Zion National Park run SO frequently (especially compared to those at Bryce Canyon). They are not air conditioned but even on a 100 degree day provide relief by having the windows tinted and open. The information provided during the ride is very informative. We arrived at the park around 1pm so parking lots within the park were already full so the shuttle was really our only option. Each shuttle stop is shaded and has benches. The shuttles themselves are free, however there is an entrance fee into the park that is good for 7 days. The shuttles can transport bikes.

I understand the reason for the shuttle, but it was over 100 degrees when we were there a it was miserable in a bus with no A/C. My sister got overheated and I didn't know if she was going to make it. I recommend going in the spring or fall when you can drive and stop for the views. The buses don't have large windows, so the views are very difficult to see.

Gas powered buses run into the park from the visitor center on a regular schedule for free. Many hotels have free shuttle service nearby for access to the visitor center. Since parking is scarce at the visitor center it is a good idea to take advantage of this handy transportation option. Not only is it better for the fragile environment but you also get information on what you are viewing. Buses run on time and you can get on or off at any stop. The views are marvelous. History and geology are fascinating.

the shuttle is the only way to go.it takes you deep into the park.you can get off at one of the 8 tops and go on a hike if you chose.you can just sit back and enjoy the 80 minute round trip and if you are luck;y the driver will point ot the wildlfe deers or turkey.the shuttels come every 10-15 minutes so hop off and walk around.the drivers were knowledgeable and you could listen to the tapes history as you drive.if the shuttle lacked one thing it was air conditioning but all windows were open and it was not very humid
