We just spent one night at Sklyand in rooms 82&83. The rooms (premium rooms) were nicely done, recently renovated while retaining some natural charm. The only ding in the room was the air conditioning was a bit loud, but it cooled of enough for us at night that it was not needed - even in August! It was nice to be able to open a window and let in some of the fresh air. Dinner at the restaurant was lovely and service was very good. We enjoyed an evening of really entertaining cloggers who perform each Tuesday night in the taproom. We would definitely stay again!

We stayed at Skyland for two nights at the midpoint of a road trip. It was a great place to stop and recharge. There were plenty of fun family activities in the area (Luray Caverns, Bear Mountain Ziplines, ATV rides, horseback rides, hiking, and more). The hotel has a wonderful restaurant, a bar and gift shop. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The hotel
Is situated at the highest point on Skyline Drive and we had a spectacular view of the valley from our balcony. All the staff was friendly and courteous. I highly recommend staying here.

Skyland is wonderful! We think it's probably beautiful, but there was intense dog for our entire visit. We couldn't even see the parking lot. We stayed in a renovated room. It was nice, with new bathroom fixtures. There was DirecTV in the room. The staff of Delaware North were very good. The restaurants had great food. Try anything with blackberries!

The not-so-great: the mattresses are terrible. For some odd reason the toilet has no lid. Because the bathroom is tiny, there is next to no counter space. The toilet lid would be helpful! Also, there are no hooks to hang towels anywhere. The buildings are very old, and there is very little sound insulation, so you will hear all of the ambient sounds.

The main restaurant was great! We got the breakfast buffet, and one omelette was enough to feed three people. The waiters were very attentive, and we never ran out of coffee. The weird thing, though, was the floor was so sticky that it was downright uncomfortable. We walked the length of the dining room, and the whole thing was very sticky.

We walked the trails there, and it was lovely hiking, despite the dense fog.

Our room was overlooking the valley. Amazing views. The room was great too! Comfortable bed, a nice TV (that we didn't use, but it looked nice), tall ceilings, clean, located near an ice machine and a vending machine. My son loved the playground. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Skyland Resort in the middle of a 2-week road trip from Miami Beach to DC. First thing we noticed - it's a big property, not what you'd expect in the middle of the Shenandoah mountains. We got there before check in time so we knew the room would not be ready, so we did a quick hike to the Stony Man trail while waiting. When we got back, the room was ready and we got a traditional room with 2 queen beds, when we booked a cabin. We don't really mind since we badly needed a cable TV and other modern touches after staying in an off-the-grid cabin but still, we would appreciate if they let us know beforehand that they're changing the room type. They just authorized my husband's credit card for possible incidental charges - I get it, I work in the industry too - but they didn't let us know before doing so as we wanted to use a different card. Restaurant was okay, nothing exceptional, but hey, you don't really have lot of choice of you're in that area. Honestly, would rather stay at Lewis Mountain Cabins but not a bad second choice.
