Rooms, hikes, facility, shops, tours, excursions and views lovely. Entertainment in the Mountain Tap Room good too. The staff and customer service make the stay a great experience. Used to be a bargain, it is getting a little pricey. A beautiful place and the staff is wonderful.

We stayed here as family of 4 with 2 grown-up sons. We were very happy we booked the 2 queen premium room-the views form our room were astonishing and made the whole trip worthwhile. AC was extremely efficient and shower was invigorating. Large comfortable beds. Friendly and efficient check-in. Food in lodge was very good despite us encountering only grumpy waitress on our whole 2 week trip. Musical entertainment in evening was nice extra touch. Best thing was being able to see clearly the starlit night sky on way back to room-no light pollution here.

Room tip: Go for chalets in woods-brilliant views

We arrived at 2:30AM and the receptionist was ready and happy to receive us. The area had a camp feel, with cabins scattered about. It definitely complimented views and feel of Shenandoah. The beds were clean and comfortable and the rooms had plenty of space for us (3 adults + 1 dog). We even had a little back porch to star gaze on. The pet room we got did smell of dog in some areas, but that wasn't a huge surprise.

We stayed here on a tour. We were told
by the tour guide that every room had a view of the landscape. Not us..we had a view of a tree! We could see the sunset from the balcony which was beautiful but definitely no other view. We got shuttled bussed to the restaurant up the hill for dinner and had the turkey. It was thick and fairly tasteless. We did have the ice cream for sweets and that was delicious. We then bought a bottle of wine from the bar and told them we were taking it back to our balcony to enjoy looking at the sunset..we got the shuttle
bus back to the room to find..no bottle opener!! Rang reception..rang out 3 times! Fortunately I found the shuttle bus driver who said I would need to buy a bottle opener back up at the gift shop where I bought the bottle! After I looked a little shocked that they didn't either open the bottle or a bottle opener was not supplied, he then drove us back to the bar and fortunately they opened our bottle and then we were bussed back to the room. I think the bar staff need to be a little more educated..frustrating to ring service to be told there is no service and the phone cut off..room only offers a slow moving fan in the heat..needs a good updating and improved customer service! Would not recommend..

Nice lodge, rooms are basic, clean, comfortable and well maintained. Property was well maintained. Check in was slow with a long line. Food very good in lodge. We were there for a wedding. Beautiful setting, friendly staff.
