Skyland's historic charm was the ideal home base from which to explore Creation's beauty! Our family enjoyed our well-renovated room in Hazeltop, which was clean, comfortable, and modernized, without losing its appeal as a rustic retreat. Skyland's location along Skyline Drive allowed us to visit many different sites for hiking and seeing the awesome scenery. We definitely plan to visit again!

We stayed in the Maple cabin. It was quaint, comfortable and clean. Because of all the trees around it felt really secluded. The Blue Ridge Package is a great deal with the lodging and meals included.

My husband and I spent two nights at Skyland Resort. Spectacular views, rustic wood paneled rooms. Nearby hiking trails in a range of levels. We saw five bears in the park during our stay! The restaurant was a bit pricey for what it was so consider the deli menu. Folks do bring dogs, but it was quiet at night. We had a room with small full bathroom, two doubles, no minifridge but it did have a coffeemaker.

Room Tip: There was spotty wifi in the lobby. Ask for a second floor room on the lower loop - close to the ed...

Great views. Facility was a little dated but I didn't go there for that. Just went to relax and enjoy the weather and views. Went horseback riding. The people there were very friendly and the trail ride was great.

Reasonable room but odd smell. Asked to change room but one member of staff not very helpful. Other member agreed to change. Restaurant mediocre - small choice and not great quality (but staff ok). Bar very unfriendly - had one drink and left. Seemed like Americans were treated in a more friendly manner which is a little sad.
View from room made up for the downsides and seeing bears just down the road made it all worthwhile.

We stayed one night in room 108. This was a premium room with A/C (although it was not necessarily needed), that appeared to have been recently upgraded. I have read some of the other reviews, and could tell that some of the buildings looked older and in need of some work. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The view was amazing (although slightly blocked by a large oak tree.) We ate in the Taproom and had a great dinner. We walked up the trail the next morning and bought breakfast at the Grab and Go counter. We had the quiche, which was delicious. We will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Request a renovated room. Although the A/C wasn't needed, keeping the windows closed did make ou...

We had a great relaxing getaway... enjoyed several hikes, relaxing in the room that had great views and just being out in nature. Went on a ranger led hike that was very well done, definitely take advantage of free ranger programs.
