Some very nice models have been built to explain some of the mystery behind giant sequoias - like why they thrive in these conditions.

“Great for kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2014

The kids loved the display that compares sequoias in height with whales, elephants and others objects, helped them put their height into perspective. Friendly rangers to provide info.

“Informative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2014

Scattered throughout the park are stations with blips of information about the various trees. The Giant Forest Museum offers some great overall information about the forest and its history. It has a cool looking to-scale presentation of known objects to the sequoia trees - it was pretty impressive. They also had lots of information about the ideal growing climate for the sequoias. There were some souvenirs and gifts available for purchase. Worth the visit for the educational experience.

“Very nice little museeum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2014

The museeum tells you the sotory of the area and about the biology of the trees. You can also see a cut-through slice of a tree.
