“LOVE these falls!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

Even with the drought, the falls are still going strong. We went on a Sunday morning and there were already people swimming in the pool at the bottom of the falls. This is a super easy hike to get to as well. About 1/4 mile to the falls from the parking lot. Very pretty and very clear water. Just absolutely gorgeous. Not strenuous at all.

Go ahead and stop here. After an easy hike, you'll reach these falls. Just sit down on a rock, take some long, deep breaths and soak in the surrounding beauty!

Enjoy Life!

“Fun falls!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

We went down on the rocks and sat for a bit. Very relaxing to hear the water roaring. Very easy hike to get to it, and then we went back and did an unmarked hike on the other side to get a different view.

“Visit during spring or early summer for the best roar!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014

Been to this magnificent waterfall many times. It's a fairly easy walk form the parking lot (1/4 mile or so) right off HWY 180 on King's Canyon floor. (About 30 spectacular miles from Grant Grove near the entrance of the park). You can also combine this trail with the Zumwalt Meadow Trail, but that will add a few extra miles to your hike.

You can also hike a trail parallel to the main trail on the other side of the river for alternate views. However, the main trail on the left side of the river is much better. The trail on the right side isn't even marked, you have to search for it.

Please hold on tightly to your children. Don't scramble on the rocks. The river and the waterfall can turn deadly in a matter of seconds. Obey the signs!

Here are some photos from a good water year. During my 2014 visit the water level was pretty low, so I didn't take any photos, since I already had much better ones.

The entrance fee for the park at the main gate covers all natural attractions in King's Canyon.
