“Great view from a little known vantage point.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

Was unaware of this on our first visit but made sure we drove up here our last morning on the way to Yosemite. Road is narrow with some tight curves, but paved and not a lot of traffic, unlike Grant Village that you go thru to get here. Paved trail with a couple of nice benches going up and some nice signs showing the mtns you view as you look out over the park and Hume Lake I think it is.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

One of the best spots to admire the nature of this National Park. The place is great and is not that difficult to reach.

Most of the times you are gonna be alone there so try to be careful and aware of your sourroundings. The view is breathtaking and unique so enjoy it. The car trail to the place is not that difficult and after the parking lot is just a small hike of less than 10 minutes up.

Every second there worth it! So plan around it!

“Beautiful”

Is accessible to handicapped by a paved walk but it is very steep. Worth the climb to the top. Be sure to bring your camera.

“First of many awesome points along the scenic byway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

This point is right at the start of the scenic byway and is a good indication of things to come... its a short drive from the visitor center. The road is narrow with just one lane. The views from this point are very good ... it shows most of the highest peaks in the region and a lot of them are still snow covered...

It is worth the short drive...

“Great view from the top”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014

The small windy road leading to Panoramic Point is located behind Grant Grove Village next to John Muir Lodge. The entrance to the Panoramic Point road starts next to the John Muir Lodge driveway (turn left into the Lodge or right for the road to the Point). It is about a 2 mile drive to the top. Drive slowly, especially when you meet another car coming towards you.

I went with my wife in late July and we both really enjoyed the great view from the top. My wife was a little nervous driving on the skinny, windy road to the top (especially when we were on the outside edge of the road). There is a great view of Kings Canyon and various mountains from the top. Signs at the top point out the mountain names in the distance. After driving to the parking lot near the top you have to walk up a steep, paved 300 yard hiking path to Panoramic Point. The climb is a little steep and you are at a higher altitude so the hike is a little harder than it looks.

Panoramic Point is a must see attraction if you are staying at Grant Grove Village or the surrounding area. The views are great and it does not take that much time to drive to the parking lot and then walk up to the top. The view is great but it is not as good as the view from Moro Rock (but Moro Rock is a much harder climb).
