Very well made trail that was just stuffed full of great trees..
The trail had plenty of interesting information on the natural history of the trees and on the monday that we went was quiet really helping us to commune with our big leafy friends!

If your only visiting for the day, definitely check it out as a major attraction. It's really cool and neat to see, but I'd rather be hiking the trails.

A good hike to the tree, much harder on the way back up. There is a parking area much closer for handicapped. Worth the walk!

The General Sherman Tree is a must see for everyone at some point in their life. You need to walk to the base to fully appreciate the tree, but for the best pictures you need to go on the trail other side of the meadow so you can get a full view of the whole tree. It is pretty crowded around this main tree, but the nearby 2 mile Congress Trail has many beautiful tree of nearly the same size and the trail is much less crowded.

Another treasure in our national park! The walk down to the trees is well paved and pleasant. You are in the shade most of the time. If you don't want to walk back up, you can take a shuttle to the parking lot. The trees are magnificent--nothing in the world like them.
