“What a Beautiful, Little Lake”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

We drove to Hume Lake from Highway 180 - the shortest way in. The road was relatively steep, not much in the way of pull-outs for viewing, somewhat narrow, and we had very little traffic. We stopped in the middle of the road, as far to the right as possible, and even a truck got by us easily. The Lake was beautiful, with a level trail at lake level all the way around (about 3 miles). There is a huge, well-organized Christian Center for kids of all ages to spend a week. The staff was very friendly. The kids said the lake was cold, but it didn't stop them from jumping in off a boulder.

“Nice relaxing stop”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

After driving the Kings Canyon Byway we ended the day at Hume Lake. It's a very pretty lake mostly surrounded by trees & then you can see the canyon in the back ground. It is like looking at a post card.
We sat along the edge in some Adirondack chairs but it looked like a lot of people were renting paddle boards & getting out onto the water. At the end of May it was the perfect temperature to just sit back & relax. We were there Memorial Day weekend & I was surprised how few people where there.

Even though expensive, there is gas here, one of the only places inside the park. So the cost is worth it if you need some.

“Nice camping spot”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Hume Lake is located in the Sequoia/Kings Canyon area. There is a nice campground near the lake. The lake is good for fishing and swimming. You can also take out kayaks or paddle boats- there is no jet skiing or anything like that. There are also dirt trails for riding bikes around the lake.

There is a large Christian camp on the lake close to the campground. There was a large group of teenagers there and they were loud at night (singing songs, etc). The Christian camp does have a burger joint, coffee shop and general store, so you are not exactly roughing it.

All in all a nice place to camp.

“Very pretty”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

Very pretty lake but very busy - there was a Christian camp in full swing when we got there so it wasn't possible to enjoy it in peace.
