“Stunning and Vast Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2014

This canyon is an amazing drive. The best tip is to get started early. The light in the early morning and at dusk is beautiful throughout the canyon. This drive will make you feel very small in size. Be sure to stop and get out of the car to take in the sheer size of the mountains and cliffs. Don't give up on the drive before you get to the end of the road, the river side drive at the end it fantastic.

“Amazing but scary views”

Driving along this road is amazing but is not for the weak of heart. The drop offs are incredible and make one feel small but they also make you pray that your brakes and steering will not give out during the trip.

“One of the most beautiful drives you will ever do”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2013

We did this drive several times while staying at Cedar Grove Lodge. We drove it in the afternoon but also early in the morning. The mist rising over the canyon just before dawn is amazing. There were no other cars on the road and we stopped at each lookout. Can't imagine visiting Kings Canyon and not making this drive.

“A beautiful scenic drive!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

We almost missed taking this drive because we got so distracted by touring the big trees in Sequoia National Park which is adjacent to Kings Canyon National Park, but are glad that we took the time to make the trip. The views along the drive are spectacular and you will find yourself stopping every few minutes to take pictures of the views which get more and more awesome as you go. Try not to mind the looking over the cliff sensation as you drive and be sure to keep your eyes on the road if you are driving. The canyon is even deeper than the Grand Canyon apparently. definitely drive to the end of the road. Visit the Boyden caves and be sure to do the hike around the Meadow near the end of the road. It is short and easy, but enjoyable. This is a drive that should not be missed. It rivals some of the sights in Yosemite National Park, minus the crowds.

“Long but great drive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

This is a very nice drive that has lots of scenic views. Boyden Cavern is along the way and it is a interesting stop. Do not stop and turn around there, keep going all the way down to the end of 180 and enjoy waterfalls and hiking trails. I would recommend this drive to anyone!
