Owner description: A 30-mile scenic drive between Grant Grove and Cedar Grove Village.

The drive is very scenic indeed; make sure to stop along the way to take in the breathtaking views of Kings Canyon. We spent about half the day between driving the byway and walking to Roaring River Falls and walking the Zumwalt Meadow Loop. If you are visiting Sequoia National Park, it is worth setting aside a little time to take in Kings Canyon as well.

Beautiful mountains and forest; streams and creeks and everything amazing about nature. God's country... 'nuff said!

A trip to Kings Canyon Nat'l Park or its' neighbor Sequoia Nat'l Park is not complete without a trip to the river gorge along the byway. 6,000' high walls above and the Kings River at the base.
A must is a stop at the Kings Canyon Lodge near 10 mile Creek. A funky place with great ice cream and a working old time gas pump

We enjoyed this drive so much. Lots of camping and trailheads if you looking for that. We had a picnic lunch and had the area to ourselves. So many great places to pull over and see/photograph.

This is such a picture perfect drive in the fall. So much rock, the river on the side of the road, very few people and cars. We were there on the 27th and the road closes on the 29th. So worth the drive in the fall.
