The highway travels between the parks and gives you a great opportunity to enjoy the ancient giants from your own vehicle. There are opportunities to pull off the road and get pictures with the trees and further explore.

Drive that connects the two main Sequoia groves, Grant in the north and Sherman in the South. We saw a bear along the road so it gets high marks from us!!

Take your time as you drive with views of giant sequoias and deer in Sequoia NP to majestic canyon views and waterfalls in Kings Canyon.

You cant really avoid it. It's the main road through the park. Very twisty with beautiful scenery.

Remember to move over if you drive slow, rangers will pull you over if you don't. I saw it happen several times when people were driving too slow and causing congestion. It's ok if you like to drive slower but just be considerate of people who don't.

We followed this road until it ends at the wilderness area. It is quite winding but very well maintained, wide and has several pull outs for slow cars and many more scenic view out looks. Besides the scenic view pullouts, there were many places along the river where you could just pull over in the shade and enjoy the sounds and sights.
