Tucked in the center of Sequoia National Park - just can’t ask for anything more. Beautiful mountain scenery with pine trees surrounding the grounds of the resort. Excellent hotel & restaurant service. We had a very enjoyable & relaxing stay at this serenely wonderful resort.

Beautiful scenery. Our rooms were quite nice. There are lots of kids running around so it is not too quiet. The food in restaurant was very good but bar service was slow. Parking at the trails can be very crowded. Go early.

Hubby and I weren't expecting to bring the two little girls along to Sequoia but we ended up having no choice but bringing the girls with us. I read the reviews already so I knew about the stairs you had to take up and down leading to lodging and also stairs within the buildings so it was a bit challenging for us. So these elements do add a bit of workout etc. I also knew about the fact that there was only one restaurant and reservations were required. There are no microwave inside the rooms and the only way to heat up water is via coffee maker. There is a mini fridge. The rooms are basic but comfy. It was a good location for what we needed. I'd prepare more food to bring in advance etc. The restaurant food was decent but pricey. Overall I knew what I was going to get staying here and got exactly what I expected so no complaints. Read reviews and set your expectations before you go.

The surrounding area of the hotel is excellent with many trails to hike on and lots of outdoor activity.
The lodge is outdated and in desperate need for a face lift. Rooms are dark, seems like the last renovations were done 20 years ago. Windows are locked and can not be opened, rooms are smelly.
Not to recommend.

This lodge is not your typical national park lodge. The room is more like a hotel room than most park lodges. Very clean, updated bathroom and all the extra necessities, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, etc.

Room tip: We had a room on the second floor with a mountain view. There are no elevators!

National park lodges are all similar -- this one is no different. The lodge is nice and the rooms are ok. The prices are high, but, you are paying for the perfect location. The lodge is very convenient to the sites in Sequoia National Park and about a 45 minute drive to Kings Canyon National Park. Rooms are in separate buildings from the lodge -- we got in a little before check-in and, although the room was not ready, it did give us the benefit of a choice between mountain view or forest view. Make reservations for dinner at check-in since it seems they have difficulty in managing a large number of diners. The front desk staff was very helpful.

Room tip: Ask for a mountain view room.
