We went to the lodge the Feb 2005 for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice and the view was incredible. The company who owns the lodge to eco-friendly as well! The Dining Room got a new chef within the past year and the food was wonderful! They offer organic beer (along with traditional brands), free-range chicken and eggs, and wild fish, among other things! We loved it. If money is an issue or just light eaters (their dinner plates are ~$20-25), you can split a plate for a few dollars where the main course is split, but each person gets a full order of the side dishes. We split meals the entire time and neither of us could clean the plate. I would recommend the lodge to anyone!! Beautiful lodge, great service, and even better food!

The Wuksachi Lodge is very clean, modern and tastefully decorated. Surroundings are scenic and beautiful with great opporunities for hiking and snowshoeing. The prices off season are fantastic but bring your own ice chest with food as there are no stores within the Park that are open in winter months. You are at the mercy of high priced boxed lunches to-go if you don't have your own.
The restaurant at the Wuksachi offers lovely veiws but has mediocre food at high prices, there is a tiny bar which lacks atmosphere and a decent appetizer menu. Bring your own sled equipment for the kids and make a trip to Wolverton for a day of fun. All in all we had a nice stay and would probably return.

My family and I thought everything was wonderful, from the scenery to the accomadations. The only negative was the service. Most of the people seemed very confused and uneducated in the goings on. Food at the lodge was as expected nothing great with average service. The room was very nice. The maintenance team worked non stop on the parking lots considering 3 feet of snow fell in 24 hours. They deserved the tips. I would definatley reccomend Wuksachi , just try to be patiant with the staff - not the maintenance staff they are world class.

My wife and I visited these 2 beautiful National Parks Sept. 14 - 16, 2004, staying at Wuksachi all three nights. Our room was large, modern, and very clean. We were in the Silliman Lodge. The first time we saw some deer in the parking lot areas, we were startled, but soon got accustomed to them, enjoying them. The temperature when we were there ranged from 42 at night to about 82 during the afternoon. We were never in our room during the day, but it was a little warm upon first entering it. After that, we learned to leave the windows open all day, even while gone. Even during the night, we had to leave the windows open to stay comfortable. I can certainly imagine that without air conditioning, July and August would be uncomfortable. I agree with others that the on-site restaurant was too expensive. We found a little restaurant connected to a general store in Grant Grove (about 30 miles west) had good meals very reasonably priced. Portions were good too. Excellent breakfasts. It probably wouldn't be worth the effort just to drive there to eat, but if your sightseeing takes you that direction, I suggest stopping there. You can get anything to go also, and we had a great little picnic alongside a nearby creek. At Wuksachi, I also found a trail across the bridge behind the restaurant that goes down to a creek at the bottom of a valley. It was a nice 45 minute stroll round trip. As an added bonus, we got to see a mama and baby black bear in the area of the General Sherman tree. Don't miss the climb up Morro Rock, and Roaring River Falls in Kings Canyon. We had a great time and would recommend this lodge. The location was good in terms of beauty and convenience, and served our needs.

Stayed 3 nights at the lodge, Sept 25, 26, & 27. Beautiful place and well maintained rooms. Desk was very helpfull and courteous. Lots of deer roaming around, very tame - munching on shrubs. Actually saw a bear up on the rise above our building one morning. Restaurant is quite expensive - we ended up getting drinks at the bar then ordering sandwiches to take back to the room. Main restaurnat entrees start around $20 on up, sandwiches around $10. But what the heck - it is beautiful and so convenient to all the interesting hikes and sites. Would definitly stay here again.
