“We saw bears!”

Very beautiful and mostly level hike. We saw bears in the meadow that were so amusing. The baby bear actually stood on hind legs on a log looking for mom in the tall grass. Just a lovely walk

“Bears!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012 via mobile

One of my favourite hikes of our trip. Easy but beautiful hiking with plenty of wildlife from bears to deer and chipmunks. Watching the bears in the meadow was stunning. Tharps Log is an amazing place, what a location to spend isolated summers living in a tree! Tharp must have been one tough guy!

“Our favorite Sequoia Park hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

We have hiked this trail have a dozen times through various seasons. It's always beautiful no matter when you visit the park. The meadow itself this time was gold, yellow, with tinge of orange. Always fun to scan for bear; this is one of their favorite stomping grounds. The trail itself is gentle, easy to walk comfortably and still take in the beauty around you; giant sequoia, ferns, wild flowers, a photographers dream.

“Love this meadow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

We did the loop walk, saw alot of big trees. The Tree house that a man lived in was amazing that it still remains. We went back another time at dusk and it was great. You just have to watch out for mosquitos.

“A Classic Sequoia Stroll”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

Crescent Meadow is a great place to walk among the Sequoias. You can see Tharp's Log (a fallen sequoia made into a primitive shelter by the area's first white settler), Chimney Tree (a hollow sequoia you can stand in), & the start of the High Sierra Trail (which leads to the highest point in the lower 48 states, Mt. Whitney). The meadows are also a great place to spot bears. We saw a mom with a cub! We recommend parking at the the Sherman Tree or Lodgepole and taking advantage of the convenient shuttles provided by the park service.
