Easy walk from the parking lot to this very interesting site and the reward is some great scenery, views and photo opportunities! Many people can't resist the urge to climb up the rocks even though there are signs warning that the wet rocks are slippery, so beware if you get the urge.

It is amazing to see what nature can do during a flood! Interesting to read the information plaques about how the fan occurred. Also, the hike along the river is worth it. Lots of elevation gain, so only for the expert hiker.

A fellow tripadvisor recommended Alluvial Fan to us as we were coming with a car full of kids. The recommendation was dead on- the kids had a blast! My younger two spend time heaving rocks into the running water. The older kids disappeared behind the huge boulders and had a ball. They climbed for at least an hour or two. It was truly a nature's playground. I would highly recommend as a place for kids from tots to teens to blow off some excess energy.

The Alluvial Fan is a rock formation with waterway that sees hundreds of hikers most days in summer. It can be somewhat crowded at times. Many folks go up for photo opportunities with their friends and families.

The hike can get steep and in places slick where rocks are wet. Be careful while enjoying yourself.

Very accessible, with well maintained boardwalk leading right up to the falls; also well suited for scrambling upstream for the more adventuresome
