“Come, see into the future, or Canada, or the Pacific Ocean!”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Seniors? Get your National Parks Pass and come, enjoy some of the pure, exquisite views you can imagine. Many times, you'll be higher than the clouds. Or, on a sunny day you'll even have snow on both sides of the road. Variety, beauty, wildlife -- impressive! Take your camera, but when moving, keep your eyes on the road!! Stop, relax, shoot pictures! At the top, we enjoyed the walking paths, and now that there are no longer any goats, you'll not be challenged by an aggressive male in rut. We saw black bear, deer, elk and especially friendly 'camp-robbers' -- birds that would fly up and eat a cracker from our hand - ours were bird seed, and I feel a BIT guilty for giving them food (don't feed the animals) but, they're pretty tame and pretty persistent.

Watch the film and get information about required permits if you plan on hiking.

Come, witness natures' beautiful 'wild side' Recommended~~~~~

“nice and cool”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

We visited in August and enjoyed the cool weather on hurricane ridge. There are few short hikes that you can take and the view up there is beautiful. There was still some snow in some places. Visit the visitor center and they have a concession stand too.

“LOng Drive but Worth It”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

Hurricane Ridge is a nice drive with good views of the mountains. We were there in May when there was snow at the visitor Center and on the surrounding peaks to provide great photo ops. It as mid week and the facilities were closed (snack bar, skiing etc) but the center was open with restrooms, warming room and exhibits. It was great to be in the warmth with our picnic lunch and look out over the snow and the Olympic Range. There are a number of trails from the center but these were only accessible with snow shoes or skiis, unfortunately.

Long drive up from 101 but well worth it. Would love to come back in the summer to hike.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

When you start the long winding drive, you're in the green and cool forrest. The higher you climb the landscape and the temperature changes. Things become drier, the air is cooler, everything is a little more brown. You feel like you are driving through the clouds. If you're lucky you can see Pugent Sound. Such a nice drive with amazing views of the mountains. The hiking trails at the top are do-able. Watch out for falling rocks!
