One of the must do's in Olympic National Park. Beautiful view of the mountains on one side and of ocean (and Victoria, BC if you are lucky) on the other side... If you are lucky you may also encounter deers in and around the trails and near the Visitor center. There are several trails (short and long) accessible from this point. Make sure check the weather before you go (on a crappy day you may not see anything). I am taking off 1 point because of the long drive and terrible wait to get inside the park (usually there will be a long queue near the Park entrance).

The first tip I can give you is to wait until at least July to visit. We were there in the middle of June and most of the hikes we wanted to take were still covered with snow. Us "flat land tourists" don't carry that type of equipment with us. Still it was breathtaking to see such a beautiful landscape. The wildlife was a real pleasure to have deer walk right up to you for a picture. They must get some sort of kickback for being cute. Bring a picnic lunch or get a bite from the snack bar, and just sit and take in the view.

If you are in Olympic, definitely take the time (or day) to visit Hurricane Ridge. The views are breathtaking and make sure you can take panorama!

This is one of my favorite views in the country. Hike up the little Hurricane Hill trail and you can see gorgeous mountains in all directions. A picture could not possibly capture the actual feeling you'll have while you're standing up there.

I'd also recommend being there for sunset, the low light only adds to the beauty.

An absolute must!

You cannot go to Olympic National Park and not visit Hurricane Ridge! We hiked Hurricane Hill trail and it was by far one of the most memorable days of our vacation. What amazing sights!! My kids were thrilled when we stumbled upon several deer on the trail, and even moreso when we found 10-15 deer and at least as many Olympc Golden Marmots when we reached the top of the hill. Both of my kids said they wished we could do this trail over and over again.

It is not to be missed!
