I live in Port Angeles and have hiked most of the day hike trails in the vicinity. I highly recommend Hurricane Ridge, but go early or late. My wife and I frequently go to Hurricane Ridge arriving at 7 a.m. We go all the way to the end of the Road and climb to the top of Hurricane Hill. Nice wildlife early in the morning including a species of Marmot that only exists in the Olympics. As we come down at 9 a.m., the hordes are arriving and the wildlife is disappearing. In winter the park opens the road on weekends. Right now there is nine feet of snow up there. Great views across to Canada.
