This is an easy to moderate hike for about 45 mins to get to the lake from the trailhead. Now to reach the trailhead, there is a good amount of drive on a pretty lonely road..
The hike is pretty nice and enjoyable... on the way, there is a sign that says active bear area and it advises that if you are lonely keep making some noise so we just played some noisy songs on a decent volume since it was just me and my wife.
Once we reached the lake, the first thing that captured the attention was the water color and surrounding area. The area surrounding the lake is red and the water is greenish... makes for a pretty viewing... these colors are because of volcanic elements (sulphur i guess)
Overall, I think the hike was worth it and the lake even though its pretty small is very nice. I was hoping to see more boiling that there actually was... That's why no 5 stars... we saw occasional steam coming from the water but apart from that it was just greenish slightly thick water lake.. .still enjoyed it.
