You will be amazed as you pull up to the site as you notice the density of the Cholla Cacti, there are thousand of them. Parking is a little limited so if it is full drive down the road and check out another exhibit then come back. Drop a few quarters and grab one of the brochures which explain everything about the location through 15 separate stops along the short trail. We learned a lot and it is well worth the 30 minutes it takes.

“Ecological wonderland”

This place is unlike anything you'll find elsewhere. The number of cacti is amazing. Get one of the "self guided" brochures and take your time on the walk. We were there near sunset, which added to the amazement. Super cool.

Just a quick stroll..educational..they are trying to save them..so some are planted by parks employees..each stop on the trail has an explanation for what you are observing.

“Amazing”

Well worth stopping and walking along the pathway through the cactus. There are many cactus plants to see and marked stopping points, where you can read about them from the free leaflet at the entrance.

“Hot but pretty”

This was an interesting walk through the cactus gardens. Make sure you have plenty of water with you. The path through the garden is well marked and not too long. It is a great stop and right off the road. I am amazed at the many different sights in Joshua Tree. Definitely need to stop here!
