“Park Visitor Center”
Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

Nice little "museum" with park info and theater. Gift shop, too. Best part, though is a few easy trails nearby - one takes you to a water fall. We used the site for a park break to eat lunch.

“A MUST do!”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

The visitor's center is not only a lovely restroom break, but provides a lot of maps for trails, siteseeing, etc. The giftshop has a great assortment too. You must see the movie on the park - though they don't make a big deal out of it! It is a very good history and beautifully filmed. We were also fortunate to visit with a ranger who had pelts of a bear and an elk. The animal exhibit is very good. We were delighted that the park had reopend four days before our planned visit!

“support the park”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

With the recent shutdown of the National parks, the GSMNP lost alot of revenue as Oct is its busiest time of the year. And unlike the other national parks, the smokies depend on park visitor center sales for their income. The GSMNP is the only national park that does not charge an entry fee. So, buy your gifts or suveniors at park visitor centers only and or give at the donation boxes at cades cove and roaring fork motor trail!

“Wonderful Information”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

This is a great visitors center with a wealth of information for everyone! You can get maps ($1.00 donation), see films, and see models (I guess they're stuffed) of every creature in the Smokey Mountains - so neat and beautiful. The park rangers are very nice and helpful:) Thank goodness we got there the day before the stupid government shutdown!

“Great introduction to the Smokies!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013 via mobile

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We enjoyed the film and the ranger's presentation about the animals readying themselves for winter was very entertaining and informative.
