“More Than 300 Cave Shields”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

There are two tour options, a 60 minute version and a 90 minute version. I opted for the latter, with 11 other guests. (I believe there is also an option for handicapped and those who cannot fit through the tight areas) The max on any tour is 20 people, and reservations should be made in advance via phone if at all possible. There were 76 steps on my tour, hand rails in many areas, cement walking. You're allowed a flashlight, jacket, and handheld or around-your-neck camera. Nothing else. My tour guide was Mark, a wealth of cave and geological information. There are many, many examples of shields in this cave, a real and rare treat. Some kids may not be able to handle the 90 minute tour, although Mark worked to keep the kids on our tour very engaged and interested. Interesting, informative, and well worth the time. An excellent adventure!

“Great detour from Nevada 50”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

I drove to northern California from Bryce Canyon National Park via Utah 21 and then Nevada 50 ("the Loneliest Road in America"). The whole drive was very scenic, but the most worthy part (albeit a bit of a detour) is the Lehman Caves in Great Basin National Park. The caves alone are worthy the detour, not to mention the snow-capped Wheeler Peak (in April).

“Breathtakingly Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

We took the 90 minute tour and to be honest it wasn't enough time to take all of the beauty inside the cave. Well worth the drive to the park, and an excellent experience to novice cave visitors. Our ranger guide ,Katie , was informative, funny, and was nonplussed by any questions. This was one of the highlights of our trip in Nevada

“Very nice cave system”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2013

This is a nice cave to visit. The walk thru the cave takes about one and one-half hours. It is an easy walk with only a few slopes. There a a few narrow spots but the photo opportunities are numerous.

This was one of the nicest caves in the west.

“close up cave experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

$10 for a 1 hour trip was totally worth it. The attractive female park ranger cindy was educational and informative. Remember to bring a strong flash light and extra clothes. There are only 2 tours per day. Make your appointment early before the 20 spots are filled. Obese people might fail to go through some of the narrow passages in the cave
