I drove to northern California from Bryce Canyon National Park via Utah 21 and then Nevada 50 ("the Loneliest Road in America"). The whole drive was very scenic, but the most worthy part (albeit a bit of a detour) is the Lehman Caves in Great Basin National Park. The caves alone are worthy the detour, not to mention the snow-capped Wheeler Peak (in April).
