We are foodies from San Francisco and love food above and beyond expectations, Upon the recommendation of a friend we booked dinner at the lodge for one evening in September, for two. The food was not outstanding by any stretch of culinary imagination and 5 courses is way too many in this day and age. With one bottle of middle priced wine our tab exceeded $350.00 which in San Francisco would have been dinner with appetizers at Gary Danko, Masa, Jardeniere , et all.

Lovely room, setting very good service but not worthy of the price.

Food is excellent and beautifully presented. The waiters and staff are solicitous and generous. Can't wait til next year.

After reading all the great reviews, we scheduled a nice lunch at Jenny Lake Lodge. What a disappointment! I'm not sure what great views the others are seeing, but the windows are tiny and most of the views are of the side and back forest (nothing to see but trees). The view from the parking lot is beautiful. The view from inside Jackson (not Jenny) Lake Lodge is fantastic or from Dornan's Pizza & Pasta Restaurant.

Apart from the view, we were expecting good food. Sadly, this meal was the worst meal we had the whole trip. I had the special which sounded wonderful -- a grill cheese sandwich with brie cheese, beet soup, and a farro salad. Well the "sandwich" which looked like 2 biscotti cookies, lacked flavor and was so dry it was hard to eat. It had the tiniest piece of brie cheese, maybe 1/8 x 1 x 3 inches, so tiny you could barely taste it amongst all the dry bread. The "beet soup" tasted like roasted tomatoes and was the only thing that had taste. And for this disappointing, dry, tasteless meal, I had to pay more than anyone at the table.

My friends had the buffalo burger which was terrible and tasted like they used an old buffalo they found dead on the side of the road, and the portobello sandwich which was okay. We had buffalo burgers elsewhere that tasted fine. The fries were just decent fries with some seasoning, nothing special.

We would have complained, but the waiter never returned to check on us. The only decent service was the guy filling the water glasses.

This was a high priced disappointment. We had a better meal at Signal Mountain Lodge for half the price.

You just don't expect to find such excellent food in the middle of the wilderness, especially after some of the horrible meals at other national parks run by that well known terrible vendor at Grand Canyon and others. Specials every night, a small dining room just perfect for the number of guests, gourmet food and wine and outstanding service.

We had breakfast and dinner in the dining room. There is not a more beautiful view from a restaurant anywhere in the world. The food and service were both excellent!
