“go to yellowstone if you want service or quality”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

I just spent 10 days in yellowstone and the grand tetons. trust me - grand teton lodge company is the ugly, inferior step sister to yellowstone and the Xanterra company that has that concesion contract in yellowstone. you have to cancel things 72 HOURS in advance with grand teton - NOT so with yellowstone. even when you do cancel - they do not have records of it and you end up having to prove your case over and again. did this once for a room and once for a horse ride. AND for the same price things like the food are vastly different. the breakfast buffet at grand teton places - YUCK. no butter, one little pastry, runny "scrambled" "eggs". No coffee carafe at your table and precious little coffee served by the waiters. they did not even have cream for the coffee. the guy looked startled and had to go to the kitchen and retrieve a small container of milk for me. really - no creamer?????????????? in the rooms there is NO coffee maker (NOT the case in any yellowstone place we stayed at) - NO coditioner. just a soap dispenser and a shampoo dispenser and trust me - the quality of those is very low. go see the tetons, just stay in yellowstone. grand teton needs to improve a LOT. PSS - if you want to ride in grand teton, do it at Coulter Bay. The folks at the Jackson Lodge are VERY shrewish, with quite the opposite at the Colter Bay location.

“Great View of the Mountains”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

The 90 minute tour at 10:45am was very relaxing. Some of the best pictures we took of the mountains are from the boat. The tour guide, Anne, was very knowledgeable, working as a summer job. Sitting outside on the boat was really nice, but you cannot hear the tour guide.

“Fantastic breakfast cruise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2012

My husband and I recently went on the breakfast lake cruise out to Elk Island. We traveled with Captain Brent and First Mate Tony and they were great! Tony gave a great narrated tour on the water where we learned a lot about the history of the area. We stopped on Elk Island and were treated to a wonderful breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, trout, fruit, yogurt, and seasoned potatoes. There was fresh coffee and juice. There were picnic tables that faced the mountains so that you were treated to an amazing view while you ate. After breakfast, there was time to explore the island. My husband and I took the short hike to the top of the island to see the views. We ran into a bald eagle flying out over the lake. After that, we walked down to the lake shore where there were rocks and old logs to sit on and enjoy the quiet and the view. When the water was still you could see reflections of the mountain range on the lake. Beautiful outing!

“Awesome!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2012 via mobile

We just got back from the dinner cruise and wanted to rate it before I forgot Captain Brent and 1st mate Tony! The night started out rainy and there were two boats scheduled to go-a wedding party on one and ours with 38 people They offered refunds for anyone who wished to cancel but assured us the rain was going to stop, and they were right. In the end there were 17 of us on our boat that went. When we got to Elk Island, the boat w wedding party was backing out because the ground looked muddy. There was some fog and the views weren't perfect, but Tony made it worth it. The 17 (8 in our group) of us had a great meal! The staff on the island were wonderful as was the food and we saw 2 large bull elk on way back on edge of the island. This dinner cruise will be a highlight of our trip thanks to Tony, Capt. Brent, the staff and the food!!!

“Great views, great food at a great price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2012

We took the breakfast cruise and it was a highlight of our trip. It is about a 35 minute boat ride to the stop on Elk Island. The tour guide Terry was very knowledgeable about the area and the boat captain Les was also very pleasant. Wonderful views of Jackson Lake and Mount Moran. Saw 2 elk on the island as we approached. The cooks prepared the breakfast fresh on the island and the portions were huge. Full breakfast included fruit, yogurt, potatoes with grilled peppers/onions, sausage, bacon, huge pancakes and the best river trout you've ever tasted. Coffee, hot chocolate and juices too. I think the breakfast cruise is only $8 more than the regular cruise - definitely an awesome deal. There is a compost toilet on the island. The dinner cruises stop at the same location. Hike to the top of a hill on the island to see beautiful wildflowers and lovely mountain and lake views. This was a great start to our 4 days in the Tetons!
