Highly recommend the cruises on the lake! Close up views of Mt Moran & other peaks, well maintained... read more
If you like to gain a unique perspective of the park take a few moments and visit Colter Bay Village and do the 2 mile loop around the Marina! Stunning views of not only Jackson lake you see the mejestic peaks of the Tetons
This was the best place we found with consistent wifi. While it was refreshing to not be attached to devices, we did need to send a few texts. Things are expensive, but consistent with anything you get in the parks. Here you can find espresso, grocery store basics, expensive gas, boat rentals, wifi, a bar and restaurant, showers, causal lake paths, bathrooms, and a cafe.
This place has nothing interesting. Just a place to stop for a bathroom. Starbucks coffee is $5???!!!
Our family of four, with two teens, stayed in a two-room cabin for three nights. The location was excellent- a short walk to the water, a "grocery" store, and a couple restaurants. It was quiet at night, but the area was very busy during the day. Our cabin was clean and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We walked to the marina to rent a boat, hiked on the lake trail, and purchased food for breakfast and lunches at the food store. The food store also served hot coffee in the morning starting very early. Colter Bay also has amenities for campers including laundry and showers.
This is a huge campground, but as a tent camper, I appreciated the "tent camping" sites with leveled tenting pads, and easy access to water. Our site in loop N was a short hike to the lakeshore, and in the early morning the scenery of lake and mountains covered in fog were amazing. We also appreciated the amenities including an extensive and well stocked grocery/camping supplies store, a deli, a terrific coffee bar, and a beautiful gift store. We also took take advantage of the showers and laundry facilities. Overall a gem of a campsite!
We stopped by Colter bay village to do a short hike, Shoreline hike, the name is a little deceptive (not actually on the shoreline) but provided beautiful outlooks to the lake. Colter bay is very busy and parking hard to find, which is expected since its a big camping ground and boat dock.
